A standard charge of £1 per session is made, £0.50 per session to those on benefits. Places must be booked and paid for at enrolment. Progression Each level is divided into three stages over the academic year, although students may join a class at the beginning of any term. Most students remain at a level for a year before progressing to the next. Once you have reached Level 1, there are opportunities to progress to other HALS courses, further education, volunteering or employment. Where and when can I study? When can I Enrol? How do I start? All students must take an initial assessment test before joining a class to enrol them on the most appropriate course. ESOL enrolment days are held at Wood Green Learning Centre at various times throughout the year (see the latest HALS Course Guide for forthcoming dates and times). In addition, weekly assessment sessions take place at Wood Green Learning Centre. These are by appointment only.
