SECTOR LEAD
Brian Dryburgh
DIRECTOR
Having been in the industry since 1986, Brian
has accumulated a wealth of professional
experience, including multiple hotel projects in
the UK, Middle East, Africa and the Asian subcontinent.
His extensive experience includes learning and
understanding a number of brand standards
from 3 to 5 star properties. This exposure has
led to Brian being involved in the development
of brand standards for a variety of hotel
operators as well as leading design teams in a
number of hotel projects.
Understanding and addressing the common
complaints that occur in hotels, following Brand
Standards and liaising with operators are key to
the success of Black & White’s hotel designs.
Brian’s ‘all-MEP disciplines’ background allows
his input to all aspects of hotel design and
has enabled Black & White commissions on
projects with varying scopes - from AV/IT and
Vertical Transport only to Electrical and full MEP
services.
Full MEP design for this 1.8 billion AED, upscale
hotel. CFD analysis was utilised in the design
of the hotel rooms and the link bridge. B&W
completed the MEP design in just 15 weeks,
producing over 1,300 drawings. Appointed in
May 2008, this posed a massive challenge as the
structural design was complete and construction
had commenced. B&W can deliver large projects.
