ACHIEVING SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH DESIGN
At B&W our sustainable business model ensures sustainability
is at the heart of our work which we believe will not only make
our business stronger in the long run but also those of our
clients. Sustainable business models promote and invariably
produce tangible economic, environmental and social benefits.
Through our in-house technical experts our analytical
skills bring focus to strategies at the outset, answering
the individual aims of a project, business or market
sector.
A number of our projects have left a sustainable legacy
such as the Horizon Building in Delhi, India which
achieved LEED Gold and the Urban Planning Council
Headquarters in Abu Dhabi which achieved a LEED
Platinum rating.
We use thermal modelling software very early in the
design process to establish accurate building
loads that are within 5% of the final building loads. This
also enables sustainable design decisions to be
made with confidence when assessing options
and informing strategies.
We hold sustainable workshops on projects with our
in-house technical experts to ensure the most
appropriate strategies are proposed. These workshops
include updates on latest technologies and design
codes and lessons learned from previous projects.
As part of our ISO Accreditation, all our staff are
provided with industry-leading training which includes
our CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants and Level 5
Energy Assessors.
Our diverse practical experience strengthens our ability
to help clients with their sustainability goals and
policies and achieve legislative compliance or planning
permissions by addressing sustainability.
