Walking in her essence is all around you in the living<br />
area and dining room and I could not get the sound<br />
of what I could only describe as her humming as she<br />
went about busily preparing for her new guests. The<br />
décor was antique and very inviting but as I began<br />
my ascent into the upper level of the house I could<br />
feel someone else, an older gentleman and the sound<br />
of loud voices coming from the back of the house.<br />
The gentleman was from an earlier time, somewhere<br />
in the late 1800s, very stern, very orderly and gave<br />
me the feeling that I was being inspected and judged<br />
appropriately. He had a hat on his head and<br />
something in his hand, couldn’t make out what it<br />
was, but it was long and had a handle, but soft like<br />
a piece of leather. He is into order, and not happy<br />
with the way his establishment is being run.<br />
Later as I sat in the dining room, I chatted with a<br />
staff member who gave me the history of the house..<br />
It ws built in the mid 1800s, for whom it is named. It<br />
served as a post office and a stage coach stop,
