What brought you to USC?: I was drawn to USC by the welcoming faculty<br />

and by the structure and prestige of the Comparative Literature<br />

program, which has a valuable core sequence while remaining flexible<br />

to each student’s specific areas of interest. This program is also<br />

unique in the way it prepares students for life after graduate school<br />

by encouraging Graduate Assistantships and professional development<br />

opportunities.<br />

What do you hope to accomplish while you pursue your degree?: While at USC, I hope to extend my<br />

knowledge of European Languages and Literatures and to expand my theoretical framework through<br />

a commitment to insightful research.<br />

Fun fact about yourself: My grandmother was also a Professor of Literature.<br />

What brought you to USC?: My advisor and his research experience<br />

and interests in Ghana and international development. Ironically he<br />

has left. Thankfully he is still advising me “from afar.”<br />

What do you hope to accomplish while you pursue your degree?: While<br />

I’m pursuing my degree, I’d like to win one more award.<br />

Fun fact about yourself: I dislike academic writing (crazy, right?).<br />
