THE 2017 KTM ENDURO LINEUP
Dirt And Trail Magazine was the first to bring
you all of the news and info on the 2017 KTM
Enduro lineup. In our July issue, We told you
about all the differences in the range. Late last
month we were invited to the South African
launch of the machines in KZN. This is quite a
long story. Mostly because it has been a long
time since any manufacturer has delivered so
many new models all in one shot.
What a great idea to host the launch in Alfie
Cox’s back yard. This multiple champ and all
round Mr nice guy, was tasked with the chore
(is it a chore?), of putting together a launch ride
that would display exactly what these bikes were
built for. Now if you, like, had visions of Roof Of
Africa type terrain, rest assured that this was not
the case. We were treated to a very cool trail ride
through the mountains.
We gathered at OR Tambo international airport
on a rather chilly Highveld winters’ day to take an
orange (get it?) plane for the short hop and skip
to the Ushaka landing zone just outside Ballito.
Flying down, we were treated to cornflower blue
skies and a vista of snowy mountains as we flew
along the Drakensberg mountains. South Africa
sure is pretty. A quick transfer saw us deposited
