Cycling<br />

KW is a bike-friendly region and most roads have dedicated bicycle lanes. On<br />

campus we have many bike racks where you can lock your bike while you’re<br />

here. Many students ride bicycles to campus and around the city.<br />

Bicycles and accessories (e.g. bike locks and lights) can be purchased from<br />

several stores in Waterloo. In addition, the UW Bike Centre (SLC 0101) provides:<br />

» A Bicycle Rental Program which allows you to rent a bike during the spring<br />

and fall terms<br />

» An annual bike auction where can bid on a used bicycle<br />

» Parts and tools for fixing your bicycle<br />

TRAVELLING OUTSIDE KW<br />

If you are travelling outside Waterloo Region, you’ll most likely<br />

use one of the following methods of transportation:<br />

Inter-city coach travel<br />

Tickets for the following are all available online or at the<br />

Turnkey Desk (see page 67):<br />

Log into your Student Portal<br />

to view Fed Bus schedules.<br />

5 DAILY LIFE IN <strong>WATERLOO</strong><br />

Greyhound<br />

Greyhound service is available hourly from the Charles Street Terminal in<br />

Kitchener. Destinations include Toronto, Guelph and London as well as across<br />

Canada and the United States. The Greyhound leaves at selected times directly<br />

from campus as well.<br />

GO Transit<br />

GO Transit buses provide direct service from campus to Mississauga,<br />

Milton, Aberfoyle (Guelph) and Cambridge, 7 days a week. On Fridays and<br />

Sundays, GO Transit also provides direct service from campus to Brampton,<br />

Bramalea and York University. At Mississauga, you can connect to the entire<br />

GO Transit system.<br />

Mega Bus<br />

Mega Bus offers service to Hamilton, the Niagara Region and Montreal. Mega<br />

Bus departs from Charles Street Terminal in Kitchener and directly from<br />

campus.<br />

Feds Bus<br />

Fed Bus is an affordable travel option for undergraduate students. Service<br />

departs Waterloo on Fridays and returns on Sundays. Destinations include<br />

downtown Toronto, London and Hamilton.<br />
