A <strong>Hidden</strong> <strong>Truth</strong><br />
A prince arrived in Kashmir from some other land.<br />
He was a paragon of piety, righteousness, devotion and<br />
worship. God appointed him as a Prophet after which<br />
he travelled to Kashmir and engaged himself in<br />
preaching to the Kashmiris. His name was Yuz Asaf.<br />
Many a recipient of true visions from God—and in<br />
particular Mullah Inayatullah, who is the spiritual<br />
guide of this author—have said that this grave emits<br />
the blessings of prophethood.<br />
This passage is in the Persian Tarikh-e-A’zami, which<br />
has been translated above.<br />
The Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College<br />
Magazine published a review of the book Shahzadah<br />
Yuz Asaf written by Mirza Safdar Ali, a surgeon in the<br />
army of the government of Nizam. In their September<br />
1896 and October 1896 issues, they write:<br />
The clergy have somewhat interpolated the narrative<br />
relating to the famous story of Yuz Asaf that has<br />
become greatly renowned in both Asia and Europe.<br />
That is to say, in the biography of Yuz Asaf, where<br />
striking similarities are found to exist with the<br />
teachings and character of the Messiah, the clergy have<br />
perhaps added these writings of their own accord.<br />
