However, this view is quite naive. The clergy have only<br />
come to find the biographies of Yuz Asaf after they had<br />
already become widespread all throughout India and<br />
Kashmir. These biographies are alluded to in the ancient<br />
manuscripts of this country—manuscripts which<br />
survive even to this day. Then what room was left for the<br />
clergy to interpolate these texts?<br />
The view of the clergy that perhaps the disciples of<br />
the Messiah visited this land and these biographical<br />
writings referring to Yuz Asaf are actually their<br />
biographies, is also evidently false. In fact, I have already<br />
proved that Yuz Asaf is the name of Yasu, 1 which has<br />
taken on a different form due to linguistic variations.<br />
Even today, as written earlier, some among the<br />
Kashmiris still refer to Yuz Asaf as Isa Sahib. 2<br />
