observation
Participant observation is an effective means of
exploring the experiences of those taking part in
outdoor activities. For example, you might use them to
understand the learning experiences of young people
and adult learners, participating in education and
training programmes.
Participant observations can be particularly effective
in assessing the impacts of such programmes on
participants. The information gained from doing so,
may be analysed on its own, or it may help you to
contextualise interview and questionnaire data.
