University Housing Policies & Processes<br />
visitors. Extended visits (over three days) are prohibited<br />
by the University. Residents are responsible for their<br />
guests at all times. Keys or Access card will not be<br />
provided for guests.<br />
Halogen Lamps/Space<br />

Conditioners<br />
Halogen lamps and other lamps with plastic heads are<br />
prohibited in University Housing. Any halogen lamps<br />
found in housing will be confiscated and disposed of<br />
properly.<br />
Open element space heaters are also<br />
prohibited and will be confiscated.<br />
Students may not install window or other portable<br />
air conditioners in their residence hall room, suite or<br />
apartment.<br />
Harassment and Personal<br />
Respect and Safety<br />
Any action or situation involving verbal, mental or<br />
physical assault and/or abuse, including harassment,<br />
intimidation or other conduct that recklessly or<br />
intentionally endangers or threatens the health,<br />
safety and welfare of another student will be met with<br />
serious disciplinary action by the Office of Residential<br />
Life or the Office of the Dean of Student Life.<br />
Hate/Violent Crimes<br />
All students are expected to treat each other with<br />
respect. If any student is involved in a hate or violent<br />
crime, severe disciplinary action will be administered<br />
by the Office of Residential Life or the Dean of Student<br />
Life Office.<br />
Holiday Decorations<br />
Lights may be placed around the interior of windows<br />
or the perimeter of your room. Lights may not be<br />
draped/strung across any ceilings or on the exterior<br />
of the buildings. Live Christmas trees, aluminum<br />
Christmas trees, menorahs and kinaras are not<br />
permitted in University Housing. Permission for other<br />
decorations must be received from the Director of<br />
Residential Life. For safety reasons, you may not hang<br />
items from the ceiling.<br />
Keys and JCard/Access card<br />
The room and/or exterior door keys & JCard/Access<br />
card issued to residents are the property of the<br />
University and cannot be exchanged, duplicated, or<br />
given to another person. As such, students will incur<br />
the cost of a lock change if a room key is lost, stolen<br />
or duplicated and a JCard/Access card if a card is<br />
lost or stolen. Keyless entry into a student space is a<br />
serious security risk and is prohibited. No rooms may<br />
be modified to allow keyless entry.<br />
