represent Housing by acting as a broker for students<br />

interested in subletting their space in University<br />

Housing. Residents desiring to sublet should at no<br />

time pay another individual/student for his or her<br />

assistance in any way in locating or identifying a<br />

student wanting to sublet or a student sublettor. All<br />

parties involved in a legitimate sublet must complete<br />

and submit a sub-license agreement to the University<br />

for pre-approval.<br />

Late Fees<br />

Students will be billed prior to the beginning of each<br />

semester.<br />

The University will assess a late fee of 1¼ percent<br />

compounded monthly against any student’s account<br />

bill that is not paid in accordance with the stipulations<br />

on the University student invoice.<br />

Loss of Property<br />

The University does not carry insurance to compensate<br />

students or their families for losses suffered due to<br />

fire, theft, water damage, etc. Students are strongly<br />

advised to check their parent’s insurance for coverage.<br />

In addition, please consider purchasing renter’s<br />

insurance. The University has found a company that<br />

specializes in serving the collegiate environment:<br />

Room Holding Deposit<br />

Sophomore Students: If you are not returning to the<br />

University, it is your responsibility to directly inform<br />

the Housing Office by August 1st of your decision not<br />

to return. If you fail to notify Housing of your intent<br />

not to return to the University by August 1st, 2016 you<br />

will be responsible for a $500.00 administrative fee.<br />

Upperclass Students:<br />

(Those students that have fulfilled the two<br />

year residency requirement).<br />

If you have secured a space in University Housing and<br />

decide to cancel your housing contract to move off<br />

campus you must notify Housing directly before June<br />

1st of the upcoming school year and all charges shall<br />

be waived except for a $500.00 administrative fee. If<br />

notification is received after June 1st but before the<br />

earliest move-in date, you will be responsible for two<br />

months of the applicable room charges. Should you<br />

decide to cancel a 12 month contract on or after June<br />

1st but before August 1st you will be responsible for a<br />

$500.00 administrative fee plus a termination fee equal<br />

to one month’s applicable room charges. The Student<br />

must vacate the applicable room by August 1st.<br />
