Shoebox Appeal 2016 The Go Boxes have arrived! Last year we had a fantastic response to this appeal and this year we would like to repeat, if not exceed our previous success. Each year Operation Christmas Child (part of Samaritans Purse) is just one of the Charities to collect, sort and send a small but important gift to as many children around the world as possible. To each child these boxes bring a smile and hope, a soft toy to cuddle and love, a game to play with friends, pen and paper for learning, their very own flannel/soap, and a few sweeties to enjoy. These are simple things that make a difference with a special box sent from strangers with love. It’s easy to take part, collect a Go Box and ‘a how to pack your shoebox’ leaflet from St Mary’s Church, or use an old shoebox (ask at your local shoe shop for an empty one). Wrap the shoebox in any colourful wrapping paper (lid & bottom separately). Cut out and stick the label to the lid of the box from the leaflet provided to highlight for a boy/girl and tick the label box to indicate the age group that the contents are suitable for. Samaritan’s purse Purse do ask for a minimum £3 donation to help towards the cost of shipping please use the leaflet envelope provided. Gift suggestions for each box could include, toys, school supplies, hygiene items. For more information please refer to the Samaritan’s purse Purse leaflet. You can bring your completed boxes to church or if you need them collected please phone Julie 07936 377030 and I’ll arrange a collection.
