Day 5. Hoi An 

Today’s highlight is the 

UNESCO World Heritage 

listed town of Hoi An itself. An 

important trading port between 

the 15th and 19th centuries, 

you will step back in time as 

you wander its narrow streets, 

ancient covered bridges and 

temples. After lunch, visit an old 

merchant’s home, Hoi An Market 

and a local Chinese temple, then 

enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. 

Day 6. Hoi An – Danang 

– Ho Chi Minh City 

Take the early morning flight 

to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly 

known as Saigon. Upon your 

arrival, you’ll head north-west of 

Ho Chi Minh City to the town 

of Cu Chi and explore the Cu Chi 

Tunnels, one of the most famous 

battlegrounds of the Vietnam 

War. The secret tunnel system 

is 200 kilometres long and served

as a communication and supply 

route. In the afternoon, enjoy a 

city tour visiting Notre Dame 

Cathedral, the Central Post 

Office, and Ben Thanh Market. 

Day 7. Ho Chi Minh City 

– Mekong Delta 

After breakfast, travel by road 

from Ho Chi Minh City to the 

peaceful countryside in Ben Tre. 

You’ll take a local boat ride on Ben 

Tre River, stopping at a traditional 

brickworks and learning how to 

make bricks by hand. Visit coconut 

processing workshops located 

along the river canal where you 

can enjoy fresh fruit and coconut 

juice. Take a motor cart (xe loi) or 

bicycle and pass through rice 

fields, enjoy lunch at a farmer’s 

house on the riverside, and then 

return to Ben Tre. 

Day 8. Ho Chi Minh City – 

Siem Reap 

Enjoy the morning at your leisure 

before an evening flight from 

Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, 

your base for exploring Angkor. 

Day 9. Siem Reap 

Rise early to explore the amazing 

temples of Angkor, the seat of the 

ancient Khmer Empire. There are 

more than 1000 temples here, 

ranging in scale from nondescript 

piles of brick scattered through 

rice fields to magnificent temples. 

You’ll start your visit to this 

UNESCO World Heritage Site at 

the fabulous Ta Prohm then head 

to Angkor Thom, the Bayon, 

Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the 

Leper King, and Angkor Wat, 

believed to have been built by the 

gods. From here climb Bakheng 

Hill to take an iconic sunset 

photo before enjoying a wellearned 

foot massage back in town. 

Day 10. Siem Reap 

Travel by boat to the floating 

villages on Tonle Sap before 

returning to Siem Reap to visit 

the small but beautifully preserved 

Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre, 

with their intricate carvings. Back 

in town, see local artisans at work, 

creating carvings, silks and other 

exquisite crafts.
