Where did 2016 go? It has certainly been an eventful
year! From recently refurbished bedrooms and our
extended food offering, to the new Gunwales room
in the Working Boat pub, we’ve been continually
enhancing our 400 year old hotel.
And we promise that winter is the perfect time to join
us, when you’ll almost have Cornwall to yourself.
Expect footprint free beaches, blazing sunsets, and
the warmest of welcomes at The Greenbank.

It’s a well-known fact that Cornwall remains mild in winter, thanks to our unique
micro-climate. If you’re heading south at this time of year, you can expect empty
coast paths, vibrant attractions and lush gardens.
So pack your camera, pull on your walking boots, and embrace that crisp fresh
air. The coastal paradises of Trebah and Glendurgan are just a short drive away
– and both have their very own secluded beach on the Helford River.
Or head to Pendennis Castle, lose yourself in The Lost Gardens of Heligan,
and discover the world’s largest greenhouses at The Eden Project.
Picnic hampers full of Cornish goodies are available from reception to feed

Say hello to our new menus
The colder days bring out the slow cooker and the kitchen crew are putting it
to good use. Flavour is always the key word at the Water’s Edge, but this
season allows us to cook for longer, using produce that need time to
marinade, smoke and simmer overnight.
Our new menus bring all this to the fore – think whiskey smoked game, winter
beets, Falmouth oysters, cottage pie, slow roasted duck and more. We hope
you’ll enjoy the comfort of the dishes as much as we enjoy cooking them.
Pre-book a three course dinner when you stay for just £25 per person
(giving you £35 credit towards the menu). Or push the boat out with lunch
– just £16 for two courses or £20 for three, every day of the week.

quayside pub where you can sink a few on
Cornish time. With fifteen beers and ciders
on tap including our very own brew, why not

TRURO CITY OF LIGHTS:
23rd November
Nothing heralds the beginning of the
festive season quite like this magical
midwinter lantern festival. A creative
celebration incorporating art, music,
dance and, of course, light.
CHRISTMAS IN FALMOUTH:
Throughout December
Falmouth’s festivities are far and wide
– from markets, mince pies and music,
to lantern parades, a Santa fun run and
fireside tales at Pendennis Castle.
MOUSEHOLE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS:
17th December - 7th January
Truly a stunning sight. Expect floating
displays of lights in the harbour and
around the streets, filled with the
aroma of mulled wine and festive food.
NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM:
Until 2nd January
Pay a final visit to the Viking Voyagers
exhibition before it ends, and explore
why the Vikings are one of the most
iconic cultures of all time.
WIND-LASHED WALKS:
