Your Cornish Christmas break begins!
On the 23rd December, we’ll have the
mulled wine and mince pies on standby
eagerly awaiting your arrival in the Water’s
Edge bar.
Dinner will be served each night in our
award-winning Water’s Edge restaurant
courtesy of our Executive Chef Nick
Hodges, Head Chef Bobby Southworth
and the rest of the talented Greenbank
kitchen team. Our traditional dishes with
imaginative twists will have you wishing it
could be Christmas every day! Sample a
slice of Cornwall with every mouthful, as
our team use seasonal ingredients that
are locally sourced wherever possible
to create an unforgettable culinary
experience. Think hearty winter warmers
and showstopping numbers that pack a
punch of flavour and creative flair, cooked
to perfection and presented to impress.
On the evening of 23rd December, we’ll be
tapping our toes and singing along to all our
favourite carols in the Water’s Edge bar with
a live performance from our traditional brass
band. Pop down for complimentary canapés
and let the revelries commence. For those
who want to sing-along, we’ll be providing
song sheets at the bar.
Christmas Eve
Choir singers, Cornish pasties and seasonal
cheer all round. If you haven’t experienced
Christmas Eve in Falmouth before, you are
in for a total treat. Rise and shine with a
hearty breakfast by the bobbing boats and
shimmering riverside, as you fuel up for an
exciting day ahead.
Take the short stroll into the charming
high street for some last minute shopping,
warming hot chocolates or something a
little stronger. The sound of a local choirs'
annual performance is not one to miss and
starts from 10:30am, when the town echoes
the sweet sounds of carol singing, laughter and
anticipation as the festivities unfold.
At 3pm, head back to The Working Boat for a
jolly afternoon of sing-songs with a local choir
group over a few toasty tipples, mince pies and
fresh-out-the-oven pasties.
There’s plenty more going on upstairs in the
Water’s Edge. How about indulging in our
festive afternoon tea complete with delightful
miniature sweet treats and elegant finger
sandwiches? The bar team will also be shaking

Recreate the nostalgia of opening your eyes
on Christmas morning to the feeling of glee
and magic as you discover a stocking full
of surprises hung from your bedroom door.
Whether you’re up with the larks to see if
Santa has visited or making the most of
the holiday season with a mellow morning
lie-in, start the day at the Water’s Edge for
breakfast paired with buck’s fizz.
For the full coastal experience, brace the
crisp morning with the yearly Christmas Day
swim at Gyllyngvase Beach, where locals
and visitors alike dash into the lapping
waves in all their festive hats, scarves and
swimwear – a rather brisk way to start the
day!
This Christmas you can leave the cooking
to us, as our team of chefs will be merrily
roasting the turkey, peeling the potatoes and
baking the mince pies. So all you need to
worry about is who you’ll pull your Christmas
cracker with – we’ll even do the dishes!
As the evening draws near, cosy up in the
bar with a Christmas tipple or two and get
engrossed with a yuletide puzzle, before
grazing on a truly Cornish buffet with all the
trimmings. After all the excitement of the
day, rest your weary head and reflect on the
magical memories made as you sink into a
peaceful slumber.

lunch this year – an email will follow nearer
the time to confirm your choices.
Boxing Day
Boxing Day is a day of leisure. Wake late,
take your time at breakfast, then spend
the day as you please. We’d recommend
a relaxed stroll into town and around the
docks towards Pendennis Castle.
Or if you'd like to join us at midday for
a chef demonstration, enjoy working
alongside our chefs to improve your
culinary skills. Then we'll be cooking your
creations as a reward for all your hard work.

time to check out and head home, with our
