OUR CAUSE 

The Y is a cause-driven 

organization that strengthens 

the foundations of our 

community through youth 

development, healthy living, 

and social responsibility. 

Our community partners support the Y 

because they know their funds directly 

help us ensure that children and 

families, regardless of their ability to pay, 

can participate in vital YMCA programs, 

such as teaching children safety around 

water. The YMCA programs provide a 

supportive environment where kids can 

learn and grow to become strong, healthy 

adults. Last year, contributions 

from Community Partners enabled the 

Brandywine YMCA to award more than 

$645,803 in financial assistance 

to 2,411 families in our community.

With more than 9,970 local members, 

thousands of visitors through the 

Y’s reciprocity program as well as brand 

loyalty which spans over a century, 

we are an organization that endures.

CAMP & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT 

We unleash imaginations and open 

children to worlds of discovery each 

summer at our camps. 

From theme weeks to fun in the pool, 

we believe our campers gain more 

than just the best summer ever. Kids 

build friendships, learn respect for 

others and themselves, and gain the 

confidence to be who they are. 

Our 7th Grade Initiative and Saturday 

Night Lights programs give children 

the chance to experience a 

judgement-free space to connect 

to other kids and strengthen their 

bodies, as well as their values.

Michael improved their swimming 

skills so much...they have grown 

from unsure, shy children to positive 

role models for their peers.”

at Camp Brandywine and an additional 506 

at City Camp in Coatesville. 

• During the 2015-16 school year, we hosted

YOUTH SPORTS 

Our philosophy embraces all. 

When it comes to our Youth Sports 

program, this means we embrace 

all abilities and confidence levels. 

We teach our athletes to value good 

sportsmanship both on and off the 

field. From basketball to soccer, kids 

learn the foundations for a lifetime 

of healthy and active play.

and has so much fun at practice. 

He loves to come and play now, 

and even stays around after 

practices to run around 

on the playground with all

unique insight into how our 

government functions. 

Led by students, Youth & 

Government is a national YMCA 

program that teaches children the 

role of government and how they can 

change the world around them for 

the better. The program culminates 

in a trip to the state capitol for a 

three-day General Assembly!
