Shaping a Montessori Community<br />
This 2 day workshop is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools required to commence the<br />
implementation of a Montessori approach into your workplace or organisation.<br />
The first day provides a framework for the implementation of a Montessori service model, including the 12 Montessori<br />
principles, and a project template is completed to introduce practice change. This is the beginning of the journey.<br />
The second day illustrates how to incorporate the Montessori principles into daily living for the individual with<br />
dementia by demonstrating practical application of the principles.<br />
Day 1<br />
• Understand the Montessori approach to service delivery including the 12 principles<br />
• Understand the framework for shaping a Montessori community<br />
• Develop a project plan for implementing a Montessori approach<br />
Day 2<br />
• Apply the Montessori approach to aspects of service delivery including the 12 principles<br />
• Plan for and develop engaging activities using the 12 principles<br />
• Understand assessment of individuals for Montessori programs<br />
• Use the Montessori approach in everyday activities including dining<br />
• Contribute to shaping a resident driven Montessori community event<br />
