Northwich will host the 2017 Revive and
Thrive spring conference at Vale Royal
Abbey Golf Club next February.
The two day event, taking place on
Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd
February, will see Northwich welcoming
Place and Town Centre Professionals
as well as Business Improvement Chief
Executives and Managers from across
the country.
It is the latest in a long line of positive
developments within Northwich and is a
real marker for how the town has gone
from strength to strength over the last
couple of years thanks to the work of
the Northwich Business Improvement
District (BID) and key partners such
as Cheshire West and Chester Council
(CWAC) and also Northwich Town
Council (NTC).
The conference also gives Northwich a
chance to showcase itself on a national
stage, highlighting successful projects
and initiatives that have been delivered
within the town over the last two years.
One such project is Pocket Park; a piece
of scrubland that has been developed
into a manicured and aesthetically
pleasing space right in the heart of town.

benches, really benefitting the look and
feel of that particular area of Northwich.
The Northwich BID along with
CWAC secured funding from Central
Government to develop the Park and
the work was completed by Groundwork
CLM’s Landscaping Team.
It followed a similar project to transform
a subway turret with the planting of
beautiful plants and trees; the BID
have really worked hard to improve
Northwich’s image.
In keeping with the theme of Greener
and Cleaner, the BID have also been
working closely with NTC in 2016 to have
hanging and railing baskets installed
throughout town; they really help
improve the town’s aesthetics.
During these works the focus hasn’t
wavered from the future though, with
Northwich set to expand and develop
further before the end of 2016.
The ODEON cinema at Barons Quay is
set to open on Thursday 15th December
with Asda opening its brand new store
on Monday 28th November.
Both are creating hundreds of new jobs
and the people of Northwich can’t wait
for them to open.
They’re also looking forward to the
2016 Northwich Christmas Extravaganza
on Saturday 26th November when the
town will be transformed into a winter
wonderland, packed with attractions
such as Reindeer, Penguins and a
fantastic firework finale.

This winter’s event is set to be the
biggest and best yet and is the latest
instalment in a long line of Extravaganzas
and initiatives that the BID have
funded and organised for the people of
Northwich.
The town has really progressed over
the last couple of years and Northwich
BID Manager Jane Hough can’t wait
to showcase all of the developments
and more at Revive and Thrive’s spring
conference in 2017.

come as a town in recent years.
