LIVE Magazine was having a mixer at TRIO
for Joe Galli when Juli and I met Sean
and Lindie. We began to talk about “Palm
Swings” - a film they were producing locally
in Palm Springs. We hit it off right away. As
time passed the film was shot and in post.
Now the film is a ‘wrap’ and Juli and I had
become Associate Producers on the movie.
The real dream and hard work was done by
Director and Producer Sean Hoessli and Co-
Producer Lindie Kuzmich and the incredible
cast and crew.
Levvy: Where did you two meet and how did you discover you would be filmmakers?
Sean: Lindie and I met over 23 years ago while shooting a movie on
Mackinac Island, MI. You could say it was love at first sight – although it
took a few weeks (laughter) – and we knew early on we were destined to
be filmmakers and live and work together. We’ve worked on many movies
over the years, and Lindie has pursued a nursing career as well, so it’s
taken us this long to produce a project together.
LC: I saw you were Class of 2007 of the American Film Institute in Los
Angeles. Tell us about the AFI.
SH: AFI was a wonderful experience. I met and collaborated with so
many talented filmmakers while attending as a fellow. Several members
of our team – Screenwriter Amanda Lockhart, Production Designer Rachel
Lee Payne Darrow, and Cinematographer Kristin Fieldhouse – all attended
AFI as fellows and that’s how we met. The training is very unique.
The first year is very production intensive as we produce three short
films, only to have them ripped apart during reviews by our fellow filmmakers.
The second year focuses on the business side of entertainment
