The school’s safe and secure location looks
out onto the giant outdoor playground where
boys and girls enjoy the fresh air.
West Chester Montessori at the YMCA is
unique because it gives children access to
healthy and enriching educational and
recreational spaces throughout the facility.
Our zero-entry pool is perfect for swim
lessons and is a great way to introduce little
ones to the water. Our students discover
the joy of music, experience the freedom
of movement and become familiar with the
Spanish language.

inspires children to discover the joy of learning.
The West Chester Montessori at the YMCA
offers a learning experience that helps children
think critically, work collaboratively, and act
boldly — a skill set for the 21st century.
West Chester Montessori at the YMCA fosters
the fullest development of each child, and
provides a foundation for a life of joyful and
successful learning. The YMCA is founded on
the principles of spirit, mind, and body and
nowhere is this approach more evident than in
our Montessori school. In addition to offering
a holistic educational experience, our students
enjoy extensive enrichment activities including:
• swim lessons • yoga instruction
• gym activities • music
• Spanish language instruction and more!
West Chester Montessori is a three-year
program. All lead teachers in our program
are Montessori-credentialed.
The Montessori method of education
values the human spirit and the development
of the whole child — physical, social,
emotional, cognitive.
In our mixed-age classrooms, children
experience interactive learning in an
environment carefully prepared by an educator
who is sensitive to each child's individual
needs and abilities. Children choose their
activities, and discover language, mathematics,
science, art and music, using materials
developed by Dr. Montessori and supplemented
with additional resources.
This educational environment fosters respect,
cooperation, order and choice within limits.
The school’s peaceful and non-competitive
atmosphere also promotes strong character
and values.

• 8:45 am to 2:45 pm, Monday to Friday
• Extended morning care available
beginning at 7 am
• Extended afternoon care
available from 3 to 6 pm
• Full-day care is available on most West
Chester Area School District holidays
• Camp is available during the summer

• 8:45 to 11:45 am, Monday to Friday

Financial assistance available
The Y is a non-profit charitable
organization that strengthens the
foundations of our community. Thanks
to our community’s donations to the Y’s
annual campaign, the Y offers financial
assistance for programs and membership
for those unable to pay the usual fees.
No one is turned away from the Y due
to an inability to pay. Financial assistance
applications are available at the YMCA
Member Services Desk.
