This tree-lined pedestrian street is a huge tourist attraction that stretches over a kilometer in length. As you are taking a stroll down Las Ramblas, you will see many street vendors that you can bargain with, shops to buy souvenirs, cafes to hang out in, and delicious food places to get your favorite tapas. Las Ramblas is the best place in Barcelona to see street performers and people watch! Be aware that is can get quite dangerous by night, as it’s a common place to get pickpocketed and approached by random strangers. If you walk by at night, try not to blatantly act as a tourist. I must’ve walked up and down this street a dozen times when I was in Barcelona- it’s such a cool area! Read more about Las Ramblas here. 5) Check out the Salvador Dalí Museum Salvador Dalí was a famous Spanish surrealist painter. Whether you are a fan of him or not, I highly recommend going to this museum because it is outstanding. His artwork museum is located in his hometown of Figueres in Catalonia, Spain. It is a little ways away from Barcelona, but it makes a great day trip up the beautiful coast of Spain. Inside, you will find the biggest and most comprehensive collection of his artwork. The area stretches from Las Ramblas to Via Laietana in one direction, and from the Mediterranean Sea to Ronda de Sant Pere in the other direction. The Jewish Quarter of Barcelona is also located in this area. Many of the buildings are from Medieval times, and some date as far back as the Roman settlement in Barcelona. I recommend going there without a specific plan, and just wander through the charming streets. You’ll see nice restaurants, narrow streets and cafes all around this area. It feels like you are walking in a time warp because you can really feel the long history of the city. Read more about the Gothic Quarter here. 7) See the view from Tibidabo Mountain Standing at 512 meters tall, this mountain has one of the best (if not THE best) view of Barcelona! At the top of the mountain, you will find all sorts of things like an amusement park, a telecommunications tower, and a Catholic Church. The amusement park is the oldest in Spain and one of the oldest in all of Europe. You can get to this mountain by railway or bus and the journey to get there is quite fun! The panorama views of the coastline and city are spectacular. Spend an afternoon up here, relax, and enjoy the sunshine! More information about the mountain and Amusement park can be found here. 8) Go to FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium. As you all should know, FC Barcelona has one of the biggest fan bases of any football team in the world. Their fans are crazy, intense and legit. Camp Nou stadium has been their home area since 1957. But what about this place is so special? First off, it seats a whopping 100,000 people, making it the 11th largest stadium in the WORLD. It has hosted numerous UEFA Champions league finals and the football competition in the 1992 summer olympics. If you get to see a game here, then you are in for a real treat. If not, they you can still take an awesome tour of the building. This website has 12
