Hunker Down with Wildlife<br />

Sunday, December 7th from 4:30pm - 8:00pm<br />

The cold has settled in, and while we’re warmly tucked in our<br />

sleeping bags, wildlife use their adaptations to survive the cold! Bring<br />

your sleeping bags and favorite stuffed animal friends to join CFW<br />

educators and ambassadors in the Learning Lodge to learn about<br />

the different adaptations our wild animals use during the winter.<br />

Following the program, stick around for an almost “sleepover” movie<br />

screening with popcorn and pizza. (The lodge is NOT heated, so<br />

please dress warm!) Open to all ages; $7 suggested donation.<br />

Road Races<br />

Turkey Trot<br />

York Rotary presents the Annual Turkey Trot 5k USTAF certified<br />

road race. The race will be held Saturday, November 29th at Village<br />

Elementary School. Check-in and registration begins at 9:30am,<br />

and the race begins at 11:00am. The Trot is a scenic 5K road race<br />

through York Village and York Harbor. The race offers mile markers,<br />

water, police traffic control, on course ambulance and professional<br />

timing. T-shirts will be given to the first <strong>15</strong>0 registrants. Race to<br />

benefit York Food Pantry, non-perishable donations accepted.<br />

Enjoy this early summer run through scenic York Village and York<br />

Harbor. For more information or to register contact York Hospital's<br />

Friendraising Office at 351-2228. Registration begins at 7:00am and<br />

race start time is 8:30am.<br />

The York Parks and Recreation Department is always looking<br />

for program directors. If you feel you have a special area of<br />

interest and love working with kids, we’d like to talk to you!<br />

Program directors are needed for programs like indoor soccer,<br />

basketball, baseball/softball and lacrosse.<br />
