Challenge fundraising

2016 has seen Brokerage alumni members, friends and supporters dedicating
their time to raising funds for The Brokerage through a series of fundraising
activities and events. These challenges allow Brokerage supporters to achieve
their personal goals, but also give back to a charity which strongly resonates with
them or, for alumni members in particular, supported them into their chosen careers.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge

The Big Give Christmas Challenge helped us raise funds for our Employability Skills
Advice Service, which helps disadvantaged young Londoners who are seeking advice
or support regarding career opportunities in professional and financial services.
We’re grateful to: Barnett Waddingham, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Clifford
Chance, CFC Underwriting, CMS, Cooley, Fidelis, Markel, Liberty Specialty
Markets, TheCityUK, The EQ Foundation, Tindall Riley, Tokio Marine Kiln and
Sapphire Systems, along with many of our individual supporters who helped us to
successfully unlock all match funds, more than doubling the value of each donation!
Worshipful Company of Insurers
We’ve been delighted to receive support from the Worshipful Company of Insurers
(WCI) which, as well as making a significant and welcome contribution to our core
costs, ensures we can provide a range of additional opportunities for our students.
Thanks to this funding, over 1,300 young people have received additional support
from The Brokeragethis year through:
• The career options programme targeting Year 12s at class assemblies in
predominantly outer London boroughs.
• School-leaver registration and individual career guidance sessions held.
• The annual student summer networking event, held at Insurance Hall, supported
by over 60 representatives from the insurance profession.
