PV Policy Group – WP2 – Questionnaire on national policy framework for PV
2.3. Assessment of strengths and weaknesses of support scheme
Please summarise what you consider key strengths and weaknesses of the support scheme. Also
highlight necessary amendments from your point of view.
Strengths of subsidies:
• Subsidies are available for off grid PV systems for location without electricity and remote
mountainous regions and also for small grid connected systems.
• The subsidies are already by themselves promoting PV technology-
Weaknesses:
• These subsidies are available only for very small PV systems (from 100 W to maximum 1
kW). Serious projects are not taken into account.
• The subsidies are given after execution of investments and are available only for a very
short time during the year. There is practically very low possibility to present a complete
application.
• The support mechanism has negative effect in a sense that potential investors are not
acting but mainly waiting for new call.
