RIVERHEAD<br />
A couple of times a year the <strong>CYA</strong> heads ‘inland’<br />
up to The Riverhead, NZ’s oldest riverside tavern.<br />
Members arrive by Launch, yacht, open day boat,<br />
speedboat and car to experience a great lunch,<br />
brunch or casual afternoon meal. Located at the<br />
top of the Rangitopuni creek, there is plenty of<br />
depth for our vessels to travel up in single-file and<br />
anchor around the pontoon at the bottom of The<br />
Riverhead’s steps. A highly valued and constant<br />
presence at these events has been the Tino Rawa<br />
Charitable Trust with their big inflatable the<br />
Whistleblower acting as a free taxi from boat to<br />
wharf. It’s all part of the camaraderie of the <strong>CYA</strong>.<br />
