1. To establish and develop mutual aid assistance<br />
in case of industrial or community emergency<br />
situati<strong>on</strong>s, natural or man-made.<br />
2. To provide timely and organized assistance to<br />
cope with any emergency which is bey<strong>on</strong>d the<br />
ability of the affected member to handle.<br />
3. To cultivate best industry practices for the<br />
preventi<strong>on</strong> of fortuitous loss (fire, medical<br />
emergencies, and accidental exposure to<br />
hazardous materials, etc.).<br />
4. To assure a state of readiness to resp<strong>on</strong>d to any<br />
critical incident (fire, medical emergencies and<br />
accidental exposure to hazardous materials,<br />
etc.), through professi<strong>on</strong>al training, safe and<br />
prompt resp<strong>on</strong>se to emergencies.<br />
5. To evaluate all acti<strong>on</strong>s in the c<strong>on</strong>text of the<br />
missi<strong>on</strong> and purpose of TTEMAS.<br />
6. Each member participating in this mutual aid<br />
scheme is expected to reserve manpower,<br />
material, equipment and expertise for its own<br />
protecti<strong>on</strong> before releases can be made in an<br />
emergency.<br />
7. To sensitise and educate its members as well as<br />
the public to disaster threats and the benefits<br />
of pre-incident planning.<br />
8. To provide more efficient emergency resp<strong>on</strong>se<br />
services for all members of TTEMAS.<br />
9. To establish uniform operati<strong>on</strong>s and practices<br />
for use by members of TTEMAS.<br />
10. To encourage and promote Loss C<strong>on</strong>trol<br />
TTEMAS shall establish and maintain<br />
an effective emergency resp<strong>on</strong>se<br />
plan with policies, procedures and<br />
organisati<strong>on</strong>al structure, combing<br />
teamwork and collaborati<strong>on</strong> which are<br />
essential to a successful resp<strong>on</strong>se<br />
Procedures as they relate to hazards associated<br />
with industry.<br />
TTEMAS, which was originally created to serve the<br />
Point Lisas Industrial Estate, has expanded to serve<br />
petrochemical and manufacturing sectors located<br />
throughout Trinidad and Tobago, with East-West,<br />
South-West and South-East Chapters in Trinidad, and<br />
affiliati<strong>on</strong>s with the Tobago Emergency Management<br />
Agency (TEMA) and the Eco-Industrial Development<br />
Company of Tobago (E-IDCOT).<br />
The Executive is instrumental to fulfilling TTEMAS’<br />
mandate and has the ability to influence its missi<strong>on</strong>,<br />
purpose and operating philosophy. As part of the<br />
executive committee, employees of the NGC Group<br />
are placed in strategic positi<strong>on</strong>s within TTEMAS. The<br />
NGC Group affiliati<strong>on</strong> with TTEMAS aligns with the<br />
Group’s initiative of operati<strong>on</strong>al excellence and its<br />
Envir<strong>on</strong>ment, Health and Safety (EHS) priorities.<br />
