Youth Tour #1- “Tall Ships and Midway”<br />
Ahoy mates! Today we will take trip to the San Diego Maritime Museum and<br />
the Tall Ships where we will get to experience a little about sea life. We’ll open<br />
a window into history with exhibits, ship models, demonstrations and interactive<br />
activities for all.<br />
These children will participate in “Hot and Steamy”, a special <strong>program</strong> where<br />
they will have the opportunity to climb inside one of the oldest working steam<br />
engines aboard the 1898 steam ferryboat Berkley. They will learn about steam<br />
engines with interactive exhibits and then have the opportunity to power and<br />
race their own small steamboats that they take home.<br />
Next we will visit the famous Midway Carrier. Prepare yourself for a lifetime<br />
memory aboard the Midway. You’ll explore a floating city at sea and relive nearly<br />
50 years of world history aboard the longest serving Navy aircraft carrier of the<br />
20th century.<br />

Today we will visit the Birch Aquarium, interpretive center for Scripps<br />
Institution of Oceanography, presents the underwater world of sea<br />
creatures in realistic habitats.<br />
Experience the frontiers of marine science through interactive exhibits<br />
featuring both shore and ocean studies which provides a fascinating<br />
insight into our mysterious, underwater world.<br />
