REGISTRATION INFORMATION<br />
Registration Categories<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Fellow: Must be a physician whose professional activity is<br />
devoted to the practice of obstetrics and/or gynecology. Practicing<br />
board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists within the geographic<br />
confines of <strong>ACOG</strong> may apply for membership under this category.<br />
Processing of completed applications may take four months.<br />
Incomplete applications may take longer. <strong>ACOG</strong> admits and<br />
activates qualified candidates on a monthly basis.<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Junior Fellow in Practice: Must be an obstetrician and/<br />
or gynecologist who is a recent graduate from an allopathic,<br />
approved residency <strong>program</strong>. Junior Fellowship is also available to<br />
physicians in Argentina, Central America, Chile, Dominican Republic,<br />
Mexico, and the West Indies. Processing of completed applications<br />
may take two to four weeks. Incomplete applications may take<br />
longer. <strong>ACOG</strong> admits and activates qualified candidates on a<br />
monthly basis.<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Junior Fellow in Training: Must be an obstetriciangynecologist<br />
resident, in an approved <strong>program</strong> (United States<br />
and Canada). Junior Fellowship is also available to residents in<br />

<strong>ACOG</strong> Life Fellow/Fellow Senior Status: Life Fellow is a Fellow<br />
who has fully retired from the clinical practice of medicine and<br />
surgery with 25 years of active Fellow status and attainment of<br />
age 65. Fellow Senior Status is a Fellow engaged part-time in any<br />
professional activity with 25 years of active Fellow status and<br />
attainment of age 60. Processing of completed applications may<br />
take two weeks.<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Member on Active Duty in the United States Military:<br />
A member of <strong>ACOG</strong> that is also on active duty in the United<br />
States Military.<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Associate Member: Any physician who has given valuable<br />
service in obstetrics and/or gynecology and who is not eligible<br />
to be a Fellow. Practicing board-certified physicians of other<br />
specialties in the geographic confines of <strong>ACOG</strong> may apply for<br />
membership under this category. Practicing osteopathic boardcertified<br />
ob-gyn physicians in the geographic confines of <strong>ACOG</strong><br />
may apply for membership under this category. Practicing nonboard-<br />
certified ob-gyns in the geographic confines of <strong>ACOG</strong><br />
may apply for membership under this category. Processing<br />
of completed applications may take four months. Incomplete<br />
applications may take longer. <strong>ACOG</strong> admits and activates qualified<br />
candidates on a monthly basis.<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Educational Affiliate: An individual in a medical education<br />
or training <strong>program</strong> that would not qualify for physician<br />
membership or a certified health care professional may apply.<br />
Applicants must provide patient care. Processing of completed<br />
applications may take two to four weeks. Incomplete applications<br />
may take longer.<br />
Resident, Non-Member: A graduate and licensed physician<br />
receiving training in a specialty in a hospital and is not a member<br />
of the College.<br />
Physician, Non-Member: A physician who is not a member of<br />
the College and who provides direct women’s healthcare clinical<br />
services to patients.<br />
Other Healthcare Professional: An individual who provides<br />
hands-on, direct patient healthcare services or is engaged in<br />
women’s healthcare research and who is not in any of the<br />
membership categories of the College or is not a physician. These<br />
individuals may include, but are not limited to, nurses, midwives,<br />
physician’s assistants, sonographers, radiology technicians, etc.<br />
This category does not include individuals who work for medical<br />
industry companies.<br />
Medical Student: An individual currently enrolled in medical<br />
school (MD, DO) at an accredited institution. Not open to other<br />
types of students. Processing of completed applications may<br />
take one to two weeks. Submission of your application is done<br />
electronically. Medical students must show identification from an<br />
accredited institution when their registration packets are picked<br />
up onsite.<br />
Spouse/Guest: Is defined as a spouse, significant other, friend, or<br />
an adult child age 18 or older who wishes to attend the meeting<br />
but does not wish to receive continuing medical education (CME)<br />
credits or cognates. An exhibitor, co-worker, or an associate of<br />
an exhibitor does not qualify for the guest registration category.<br />
A registered spouse or guest is allowed to attend the colloquia<br />
sessions, the Welcome Reception and to visit the exhibit hall.<br />
They are eligible to purchase tickets for spouse/guest <strong>program</strong><br />
activities. Registration must be indicated on the <strong>ACOG</strong> Advance<br />
Registration Form. Spouse/guest and adult family members who<br />
wish to register for courses and receive CME credits or cognates<br />
must register in the appropriate registration category listed above.<br />
<strong>ACOG</strong> Honorary Fellows: Honorary Fellows are individuals of<br />
outstanding achievement in the field of obstetrics and gynecology,<br />
or in an allied discipline, from any country and are selected by<br />
the Executive Committee of the Executive Board. They must<br />
have obtained national and international recognition (achieved<br />
distinction and recognized for a leadership position by being<br />
elected president or a senior officer of a national or international<br />
obstetrical and gynecological society or organization) and should<br />
have a relationship with U.S activities involving women’s health<br />
care. <strong>ACOG</strong> Members are ineligible for Honorary Fellowship.<br />
Practice Manager: A practice manager is a management<br />
professional who coordinates all functions of a private practice.<br />
One-Day Registrant: One-day registration is available for <strong>ACOG</strong><br />
members, non-members and press. One-day registrants can<br />
only attend sessions and purchase tickets for events being<br />
held on the day they register. Additional one-day registrants are<br />
available online.<br />
