ESG can support national targets
for flood risk management and
response over the coming years at
Flood and Coast 2017.
Working with primary stakeholders,
designers, contractors and suppliers,
ESG provides an unrivalled range
of independent accredited services,
including; land and marine surveys,
chemical analysis of soils and water,
structural investigations, concrete and
earthworks testing, asbestos surveys,
ground investigations, contaminated
land assessments, noise and vibration
monitoring and metallurgy.
FLOOD CONTROL
INTERNATIONAL
Flood Control International
specialises in the design, supply
and installation of the most
comprehensive range of flood
defence systems in the world.
We design, manufacture, supply
and install bespoke engineered flood
defences, including flood barriers,
flood gates and glass flood walls to
the commercial and utility markets.
We work with clients and consultants
to achieve the best engineered flood
defence solution every time.
Our capacity for innovation is
unsurpassed. New designs for flood
barriers and gates include large double
bi-fold flood gates, inflating barriers,
vertical rising barriers and extendable
glass walls to cater of potential rises in
flood levels in the future.
Our professional design service
identifies the most appropriate flood
defence solution. We provide CAD
drawings of all installations ensuring
they fit in with client requirements
and that they integrate correctly.
Our unique engineering knowledge
and experience guarantee flood
protection solutions that are
innovative, efficient, cost-effective
and above all else, dependable.
GEODESIGN BARRIERS
The devastating Storm Desmond
in 2015 led to The National Flood
Resilience Review. Appreciating the
importance of having temporary
flood barriers available nationally,
the government, through the
Environment Agency, significantly
increased their stock of temporary
barriers. Geodesign Barriers have
worked closely with the EA since 2001,
but have now also officially become
an EA framework partner and are
supplying even more temporary
barriers, for national deployment.
Geodesign Barriers has made
effective flood protection available
for companies like National Grid, UK
Power Networks, Northern PowerGrid,
SSE, SGN and Anglian Water.
Many kilometres of barrier have
been distributed around the world,
providing effective protection
against flooding. This easy-to-deploy,
flat-packed barrier is available in
dam heights of 0.45m to 2.40m.
The Geodesign Barriers are free
standing and self-anchoring, with no
fixtures to the ground. Suitable for
both homeowners and large-scale
use, they can be deployed on any
ground surface. The flexible barriers
adapt easily to local conditions, such
as uneven ground, angles, kerbs,
slopes and steps. They can also be
deployed in water, if needed. With a
lifespan of over 50 years and extra
strong, galvanised steel behind
the plastic membrane, this barrier
system becomes less vulnerable
and can be used again and again
– giving excellent life cost value
for money. Geodesign Barriers also
provide training for best practice.
