EXHIBITOR PROFILE
maintenance of asphaltic structures
for dams, reservoirs, rivers, estuaries,
coastlines and ports.
Since Flood & Coast 2016 the
company has been very busy
repairing and strengthening
seawalls along the Essex & Suffolk
coastlines. Replacing revetments
comprising individual units (concrete
blocks) with continuous asphalt
revetments provides the client
with a robust, flexible, long-lasting
protection using proven techniques.
Projects have been on the rivers
Blackwater, Crouch, Thames & Alde
as well as along the North Sea coast.
Our research & development team in
the Netherlands have been involved
in a multi-national project to set up
tests to confirm anecdotal evidence
that OSA can withstand water
velocities of over 10 m/s when
used to protect spillways. Tests are
programmed for Q2 2017.
IBS
In 2016, IBS designed, manufactured
and installed a number of high
profile glass flood defence systems
in the UK, taking our total of
successfully delivered projects past
the 1.5Km milestone since the first
system was installed in Keswick in
2011. Included in 2016’s successes
were the UK’s largest glass flood
defence system, installed to protect
the village of Paull (near Hull) from
future tidal surges and as a part
of the wider Hull and Holderness
Flood Alleviation Scheme, a project
that is providing defences along
the Humber estuary together with
inland engineering works.
These recent projects have
allowed IBS to continue their
unrivalled success in the delivery of
these specialist glass flood defence
systems. Having re-located to larger
premises in South Yorkshire at the
end of 2015, IBS continue to expand
and support more clients in the
UK, most recently by the addition
of a new team member to help
manage the ever increasing level
of enquiries. Managing Director
Ray Moulds, says ”After such an
exceptional year with multiple large
contract successes, not only in the
UK & Ireland but also globally, we’re
very much looking forward to 2017
and seeing our business expand
further. By this I don’t just mean by
supporting more and more clients
with our high quality innovative
solutions, but also with exciting
product developments that our
teams are working on and which
will enhance our client offerings
for the future”.
IBS are one of the sponsors of
the Flood & Coast exhibition and
will be located at stand A26, please
come along and talk to us about
your projects and let’s see how we
can help you.
