Please Note: All non-residents registering during resident<br />

REFUND POLICY:<br />

Refunds <strong>and</strong> transfers MUST be requested FIVE business days<br />

prior to the beginning of the class in order to receive a refund<br />

or transfer.<br />

(Exception: There are no refunds for Fun in the Sun <strong>and</strong> Art<br />

in the Park, however if spots are available a participant may<br />

transfer to another day.)<br />

There will be a 20% administrative charge for all cancellations.<br />

The $3.00 online service fee is non-refundable.<br />

If a class is cancelled by Greenwood Village, a full refund<br />

will be made to the participant. Transfers are free if spots are<br />

available; participants may substitute another family member<br />

with an account in their spot. Transfers of friends or neighbors<br />

are NOT allowed.<br />

DROP OFF AND PICK-UP POLICY<br />

For all youth art <strong>and</strong> recreation programs participants MUST<br />

be signed in <strong>and</strong> out of the program by a person who is 13<br />

years or older, unless arrangements have been made with the<br />

Not going away for Spring Break? Come out <strong>and</strong> play!<br />

Join us at Silo Park for miscellaneous games such as, flag<br />

football, dodge ball, ultimate Frisbee <strong>and</strong> various other recess<br />

games. No equipment is necessary. So grab a friend <strong>and</strong><br />

come on over!<br />

Healthy snacks <strong>and</strong> drinks will be provided.<br />

A m<strong>and</strong>atory sign in sheet must be completed by parents<br />

daily for each participant, in case of an emergency. The<br />

painting, collage <strong>and</strong> mixed media.<br />

Kids will explore materials <strong>and</strong> methods in ways that inspire<br />

new ideas <strong>and</strong> help to develop an unique style.<br />

TENTACLE SCULPTURES<br />

Explore sculpture! Students will create a large sculpture from<br />

design to construction <strong>and</strong> finish with painting. We will use tools,<br />

wire, paper mache <strong>and</strong> paint. Students learn various techniques<br />

from wire shaping to collage <strong>and</strong> textual layering. Each piece will<br />

have a story <strong>and</strong> we will experiment on methods of expressing<br />

that in the final work of art! Come use your imagination <strong>and</strong><br />

create a life size sculpture!<br />

LEARN TO DRAW MANGA<br />

Learn how to draw <strong>and</strong> color with oil pastels.<br />

From Dragon Ball to Full Metal Alchemist, Manga (Japanese comics<br />

<strong>and</strong> cartoons) is one of the most popular art forms in the world.<br />

In this 8-week workshop, you’ll learn about the history of Manga,<br />

how it differs from American comics, <strong>and</strong> have the chance to bring<br />

your very own Manga comics to life. Sessions will include h<strong>and</strong>s-on<br />

instruction on how to create Manga characters, settings, stories,<br />

<strong>and</strong> so much more!<br />

Want to learn how to skateboard at Westl<strong>and</strong>’s beginner park?<br />

Join this camp <strong>and</strong> learn the skills & tricks you need to ride<br />

in the park. Also learn skate park etiquette <strong>and</strong> other tricks to<br />

take your skills to the next level. This camp will be taught by<br />

professional skate board instructors. Participants need to bring<br />

their own skateboard, helmet, wrist guards <strong>and</strong> knee pads.<br />

Day: Mondays, May, 1 through 22<br />

WATERCOLOR<br />

This thorough exploration of watercolor painting offers instruction<br />

<strong>and</strong> opportunities for practice in basic wet <strong>and</strong> dry techniques,<br />

washes, blends <strong>and</strong> use of transparency<br />

Artist Level: This class is for all artistic levels<br />

Beginning students will concentrate on how to paint with<br />

watercolor <strong>and</strong> will learn how to apply the fundamentals of art <strong>and</strong><br />

painting to their own watercolor paintings.<br />

Experienced students will concentrate on composition, technical<br />

skills, paint consistency <strong>and</strong> color development in their own<br />

watercolor paintings. Those students wanting to explore <strong>and</strong><br />

improve their gouache skills are welcome.<br />

April 8 Anticipating Spring<br />

of fresh air. Come join us!<br />

May 13 Teacups Galore<br />

Tea cups are the subject of this fun <strong>and</strong> whimsical canvas. We’ll be<br />

using bright <strong>and</strong> lively acrylic colors to paint a small collection of tea<br />

cups <strong>and</strong> saucers. This canvas would make a treasured gift for a Mother<br />

or special friend. And, yes, we’re serving tea at this workshop.<br />

This one hour demonstration will focus on how to use <strong>and</strong> make<br />

works of art using polymer clay. Artist Gerri Calpin will demonstrate<br />

basic technique <strong>and</strong> the equipment used in working with polymer<br />

clay. There will be plenty of samples for participants to view <strong>and</strong> time<br />

for questions.<br />

POLYMER CLAY INTRODUCTION<br />

This h<strong>and</strong>s-on workshop will introduce artists of all artistic levels to the<br />

basics of working with polymer clay. Students will work with one color<br />

of clay <strong>and</strong> design a large button using tools <strong>and</strong> stamps. Throughout<br />

the process artist Gerri Calpin will answer questions, show bench work<br />

setup, storage <strong>and</strong> finishing procedures. All students will get to bake<br />

their buttons in an oven <strong>and</strong> show off their polymer clay creations.<br />

Begin or develop your Mixed Media by Pébéo painting skills.<br />

Through demonstrations, individual instruction <strong>and</strong> h<strong>and</strong>s-on<br />

exercises, students will learn the basics <strong>and</strong> gain confidence in<br />

working with Mixed Media by Pébéo liquid oil paints. You will<br />

have an opportunity to create a sample sheet <strong>and</strong> an artwork of<br />

AN INTRODUCTION TO CYANOTYPE<br />

Cyanotype is a fascinating <strong>and</strong> easy h<strong>and</strong>s-on introduction to<br />

learning how to make an image using alternative photography<br />

(early photo processes).<br />

Join photographer Anne van Leeuwen to learn how to make<br />

cyanotypes. Participants will be using prepared cyanotype<br />

emulsion to coat paper, then expose to UV light to produce exciting<br />

blue images.<br />
