Eating out The ginger one had pancakes, wolfed them down while declaring them the best. I went off piste with an order of avocado, bacon and two eggs. This too was declared the best. It was flawless. DaddyO liked the chorizo, cornbread, fried egg and sweet corn very much. Bistrotheque is the creation of the one-time fashion designers Pablo Flack and David Waddington and they’re still London’s favourite fashion party organisers. They know what looks good, including the team working the bar. Their striped tops had them all looking like part of a Jean Paul Gaultier advert. He’s the bluehaired pianist tinkling the ivories underneath an equally showy floral display. Xavier’s brilliance is his musical arrangements. Pop classics re-worked with such flourish it can take a moment to recognise this new piece of perfection. We loved Yazz, Madonna, Lady Gaga. I’ve been trying to get to Bistrotheque for their brunch for months, a full 14 of them. Night time, yes, we’re regularly there. It’s part of the repertoire when Harry comes to stay. I’ve reviewed it as a great place to go. Let’s see how it fares in the cold light of day. Bistrotheque is the fun palace for the fashionable. Brunch always feels to me a little 32 LOVEEAST decadent, so we took the small ginger one with us, and had ourselves a fun and full-on, selfindulgent hangabout. The brunch menu is tremendous. A big yes to the Croque Madames, French toast and the almighty Bistrotheque Breakfast. An "oh go on then, why not" to pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, Eggs Royale and avocado with eggs, hot sauce and corn bread . The great Xavier can be hired for your own party. A £450 bargain. Kevin Spacey, Gerard Butler and Elton John have already taken advantage of this offer. Don’t miss out – he comes free with brunch.
