Wed 14 January Evening Talk: Wildlife in the Loire by Dave Mellor RSPB, Largs Rd, Lochwinnoch 7.30pm to 9pm Dave Mellor is a former keeper of natural history at Paisley Museum. His regular visits over several years have allowed him to build up an interesting view of central France’s wildlife. Birds, butterflies, animals and plants as well as landscape, fossils and rocks all make this a wildlife heaven. Please book as places are limited. Cost: Adults: £5 or £3 for RSPB members, Children: £3 or £2 for Wildlife Explorers The first concert of 2015 will be a return visit from our old friends “Coro Alba”. Birds for Beginners RSPB, Largs Rd, Lochwinnoch 11am to 1.30pm Join the team at RSPB Lochwinnoch for a workshop session ideal for beginners to birdwatching, to help you learn more about common garden birds and pick up tips and advice on wildlife watching techniques. Her talk will take you into the world of the birds sharing our gardens. She will speak about garden birds and their ups and downs and how the RSPB’s Big Garden Bird Watch has helped our understanding over the last three decades. Please book as places are limited. Cost: Adults: £5 or £3 for RSPB members, Children: £3 or £2 for Wildlife Explorers Wed 28 January Monte Carlo Rally Returns Paisley Abbey, Abbey close, Paisley 7pm Paisley will again host the only UK start leg of the event – one of the most famous and glamorous in motorsport. Around 70 cars – including classic Porsches, Mini Coopers and even Linwood-built Hillman Imps, will set off at 7pm. Come and peruse a range of telescopes and binoculars, with knowledgeable staff on hand to help you find the right one for you! Our optics are competitively priced, with the added bonus that 100% of the profit goes directly to helping conservation. Cost: FREE Sat 7 February Jillian Craig’s fundraising for Cambodia - Race Night Houston Bowling Club 7pm A great fun evening is promised. Light snacks with sandwiches and sausage rolls are provided.
