Scottish Huntington’s Association, is organising<br />

a Red-Hot Firewalk challenge to raise vital funds<br />

for people affected by Huntington’s disease, their<br />

families and carers. So if you have a burning desire<br />

receive a fundraising pack. All we ask is that you<br />

pay part of £30 and commit to raising a minimum<br />

sponsorship of £100.<br />

Come and join this fun children’s nature activity<br />

group! Every session has a different theme to do<br />

with wildlife and the natural world, but all sessions<br />

are informative, great fun and involve a good chunk<br />

of time outside. Ages: up to 14yrs (under fives must<br />

be accompanied by a parent/guardian). Cost: £2<br />

morning at Kilbarchan East Church Hall. Please<br />

Birds for Beginners<br />

11am to 1.30pm<br />

Join the team at RSPB Lochwinnoch for a workshop<br />

session ideal for beginners to birdwatching, to<br />

help you learn more about common garden birds<br />

and pick up tips and advice on wildlife watching<br />

techniques. Then head out into the reserve to put<br />

these new skills into practise. Afterwards enjoy a hot<br />

drink back at the centre. Please book as places are<br />

limited. Cost: Adults: £5 or £3 for RSPB members,<br />

Children: £3 or £2 for Wildlife<br />

Diane Lyons is a local field teacher and ecological<br />

surveyor, with a keen interest in the Natural<br />

World. Her talk will take you into the world of the<br />

birds sharing our gardens. She will speak about<br />

garden birds and their ups and downs and how<br />

the RSPB’s Big Garden Bird Watch has helped<br />

our understanding over the last three decades.<br />

Monte Carlo Rally Returns<br />

Paisley Abbey, Abbey close, Paisley 7pm<br />

Paisley will again host the only UK start leg of the<br />

event – one of the most famous and glamorous<br />

in motorsport. Around 70 cars – including classic<br />

Porsches, Mini Coopers and even Linwood-built<br />

Hillman Imps, will set off at 7pm.<br />

Come and peruse a range of telescopes and<br />

binoculars, with knowledgeable staff on hand<br />

to help you find the right one for you! Our optics<br />

are competitively priced, with the added bonus<br />

that 100% of the profit goes directly to helping<br />

conservation. Cost: FREE<br />

Jillian Craig’s fundraising for<br />

Cambodia - Race Night<br />

Houston Bowling Club 7pm<br />

A great fun evening is promised. Light snacks with<br />

sandwiches and sausage rolls are provided. There<br />

will be a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs.<br />

Don’t miss out on a great night and all money<br />

raised will be going towards Jillian’s gap year in<br />
