Getting Down to Business
From the President
Hello! This is the Nationals issue! We get to look back at the
highlights of 2016 in Oregon, and we look forward to the 2017
celebration in Bryan, Texas. Thank you, Cynthia, for all of the
extra work it always takes to put this special issue together.
Since this is ASCA’s 60 th birthday year, the 2017 Texas
Consortium needs your help. We are putting together a slideshow,
commemorating 60 years of ASCA history, to be shown at the
Friday Banquet. If you have stories or photos to contribute, or if
you have suggestions on what we should include, please email me
(chaseaussies@aol.com) or a member of the History Committee.
Please share your photos and memories!
We also need your help in recognizing ASCA’s special
volunteers. Volunteers are the backbone of ASCA! Do you know
someone who consistently dedicates himself or herself to ASCA,
someone who serves tirelessly and deserves some recognition
for his/her contribution? Each Affiliate may submit the name of
one volunteer for recognition. Encourage your Affiliate to send a
nominee to Executive Secretary Kalla Jaco.
In April, the Board will meet in Bryan, Texas, for our annual
Spring Meeting. One of the items on our agenda is going over
ASCA’s Strategic Plan. If you have something that you think the
Board should address this year, let us hear from you. As Henry
Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is
progress; working together is success.” Sixty years ago we had a
beginning. Being the largest independent breed-specific club in
the United States is progress. Let’s continue to work together for
the success of the club and breed we love!

Here’s Another Way to Participate in AT
Aussie Times is pleased to offer a column devoted to Hall of Fame Sires and Dams, Performance Champions,
Supreme Performance Champions, Versatility Champions, and Supreme Versatility Champions.
Any eligible dog submitted will be given a half-page to include photograph and/or write-up submitted by the
owner of the dog. Submissions will be published in the order of receipt by the Editor.
ASCA is proud of its members and their accomplishments with their Aussies.
