Parade of Rescue Dogs
This class requires no entry fee. However, an official conformation entry form must be completed and must be accompanied by
a typewritten, double-spaced script, approximately 100 words in length and received by entry deadline. For the class on the entry
form, please put “Parade of Rescue.” An ASCA Registration Form is not required. The Parade will take place in the Exhibition
Hall on Tuesday, October 31, in conjunction with a breakfast celebrating the Parade of Veterans and Titleholders and Parade of
Rescues. An assembly time will be in the welcome packet. Parade order will be by catalog order. Each entry will receive a
personalized rosette.
Golf Cart Rental
Golf carts are available to rent directly through Golf Cars of Houston, 22205 Loop 494, Kingwood, Texas 77339. Their number
is (281) 358-9152. Carts will be delivered to the site and keys can be picked up in the Nationals Office in the Exhibition Hall.
ASHGI Basket Raffle
Once again we will hold a basket raffle to benefit ASHGI, the Australian Shepherd Health and Genetics Institute. Proceeds will
be split between epilepsy and cancer research, as ASHGI deems best. Individuals and affiliates should contact Lacey Kafer at
lacey.kafer@gmail.com for information on donating a basket for the raffle. Baskets may be delivered to the basket display area
in the Exhibition Hall. Tickets may be purchased during show hours. The drawing will be held on Friday, November 3, at noon.
Welcome Reception Dinner – Texas Barbecue
To celebrate the start of Nationals, we are hosting an informal get together on Saturday, October 28. Dinner will feature Texas
BBQ: brisket, sausage, potato salad, corn casserole, beans, peach cobbler and cherry cobbler. A cash bar will also be available.
The cost will be $5; please reserve your tickets on the summary submission form as reservations are required for attendance.
This Saturday is a Texas A&M home game, so local restaurants will be BUSY, so we hope you will plan on joining us!
National Banquet – ASCA’s 60 th Birthday Party
The National Banquet will be held at 7 P.M. on Friday night. Reservations are required and can be made using the summary
submission form. The meal will feature carved roast beef, Ancho chili-rubbed pork loin, Texas pecan-crusted chicken with
lemon-basil cream sauce, tossed green salad, green beans amandine, twice-baked potatoes rolls, French bread and birthday cake.
The cost will be $35 for adults and $15 for children under 10. Notify Lyndsay Smith if you require a vegetarian/vegan
alternative. There will be a cocktail hour with a cash bar starting at 6 P.M. Entertainment will be provided, along with a trip
down memory lane, celebrating 60 years of ASCA. MVA and MVJ will also be presented at this event. Come join the
celebration!
Stalls / Grooming Areas / Bathing Facilities
Stalls will be assigned. Stalls may be rented in either the West Pavilion or the East Pavilion. Please indicate which you would
prefer when you reserve your stalls. Stalls are 10 X 10 feet and have dirt floors. Shavings, if used, must be purchased from
Brazos Expo Center. Each stall has its own electrical outlet. The stalls can be dusty due to the dirt floors, so having a tarp for the
floor might be helpful. Dogs may be left overnight, but your name and emergency contact MUST be left on the stall, and the
Consortium and Brazos Expo assume no responsibility for dogs left unattended overnight. People may camp in the stalls. Those
choosing to camp in the stall areas need to realize that dogs may be barking all night and lights will be left on, sometimes all
night long, and the Consortium does not guarantee any peace and quiet or darkness in the stalls area! Reservations are $175 per
space for the show. No per day reservations will be accepted. Any unreserved spaces will be available at the show on a firstcome,
first-served basis at $200 per space. Contact the Nationals Show Office in the Exhibition Hall at the show for an
unreserved space. There will be NO refunds on cancellations received after August 31, 2017. There are wash racks in the
East Pavilion, and we will provide four Booster Baths.
Group Reservations: Those wishing to be assigned together should have ONE person reserve the total number of spaces needed
for the group.
Clean Up Deposit: A separate check for $100 must accompany stall rentals, one deposit per stall rented. This check will be
shredded if your stall is left free of trash and debris, including excessive dog hair from grooming. We had too many people leave
HUGE messes in 2014, so we are forced to resort to this deposit. Thank you for your help and your understanding.
Vendor Spaces / Vendor Permits
Ten foot by ten foot vending spaces, with electricity, will be available for $350 for the week. These spaces will be in the
Exhibition Hall. You may purchase more than one space. Set up on Friday morning will be by assigned time. You will not be
able to drive in to set up this year, so bring a dolly. Space is limited, so contact Vendor Chair, Kim Eden ASAP at
kim.eden82@gmail.com. No merchandise or services may be sold without a vendor’s permit, and those caught violating
this will be asked to leave the premises.
