The main advantage of the block typology is its defined
and closed urban structure. Each block has its own intimate
core, which can be used as courtyards and gardens. The
inner structure of the block typology is similiar to the linear
typology, needing a lot of circulation spaces. The inner
corners of the block don‘t get natural lights, that makes
them only suitable for circulation or secondary rooms. As
shown in the shadow pictos, one can tell that the shadows
of the structure shades parts of its own. Since the already
existing urban structures around the site are mainly open
blocks, the block typology would be in accordance with the
context of the surroundings.
