Metalor Refining Division operates the most advanced
precious metal refining facilities in the world. With more
than 150 years of history in precious metal refining and
strong focus on customer service, the Refining Division
is recognized both for its reliable services and for its
high quality products supplied to electronics and jewelry
industries around the world
meetIng customers’ needs
The Refining Division specializes in
recovering gold, silver and platinum
group metals from a wide range of
precious metal bearing materials.
Depending on precious metal con-
tent, these materials could be either
high grade metallic such as gold and
silver dore, platinum group bullion,
karat scrap and dental scrap etc., or
low grade materials such as work-
shop wastes, manufacturing swarf,
spent metal catalyst, electroplated
metallic scrap and electronics scraps
etc. The materials may be sourced
from banks, mines, collectors, dealers
and industries using precious met-
als. Once received at the refinery, the
materials are first evaluated to deter-
mine the precious metal content. The
precious metals are then separated
from impurities in the refining pro-
cesses. Fine metals are eventually
converted to bullion products which
are accredited with LBMA, TOCOM,
COMEX, Dubai and other major mar-
kets, and specialty products such as
high purity gold (above 99.999%
pure), silver powder, platinum and
palladium salts etc. to meet the needs
of customers from high-technologies
sectors.
The Refining Division operates three
refineries located in Switzerland, USA
and China, respectively. In addition, it
has evaluation centers and sales of-
fices around the world to bring extra
convenience to customers. No mat-
ter where the customers are located,
our proactive and experienced sales
teams are close enough to deliver dis-
tinctive full refining services starting
from acceptance of materials to final
settlement.

Refining Division. Continuous efforts
have been made to shorten evalu-
ation and refining throughput time,
