TERM 1 FLO NEWS.
PAGE 5
It has been a very busy time down in the FLO room with lots of activities, learning and creativity happening. We have 41
students in the FLO program who have participated in a whole range of activities over the term. Here is a snippet of
what we have been up to……………..
Making Wooden Planter Boxes – The Year 9’s as part of their Cert II in General Education course have been working on
a project this term which involved making wooden planter boxes out of old pallets. The students had to pull the pallets
apart, remove the nails, plane the wood, cut and measure and then construct the planter box. There was lots of hard
work involved and the students learnt how important it is to work together as a team. We have almost completed one
planter box so far and we hope to keep making more throughout the year to put in our ‘Café’ area and also around the
school.
Spray Can Art –Througout the term all the FLO students in all the year levels have been working on Spray Can Art
murals which we are going to use to put in our ‘Café’ area to decorate the space and make it look really ‘funky’ and
‘cool’ and to brighten up our outdoor area. The students have really enjoyed these projects and the art works are
looking fantastic. Photos of the finished products to come early next term.
