VicSRC Workshop.
On Tuesday the 7 th of March the School Captains went to Mildura Senior College for the day to attend the VicSRC workshop.
Over the duration of the day we participated in many activities that helped to develop our leadership and teamwork skills.
We worked on effective ways of planning projects and we presented our ideas to the rest of the group. There were
presentations from other schools as well and games throughout the day. There was also a large amount of valuable
information that we gained that we will take back and put into our future endeavours, throughout the year, as your school
captains.
France trip 2017.
In less than two weeks 5 teachers and 36 students from ISC, RCSC and MSC will travel to France on the History trip of a
lifetime. This trip came about when Mrs Taylor was drawn as the winner to the major prize at the HTAV’s National History
conference in 2015. Over the last year and a bit Mrs Taylor have worked with teachers from RSC and MSC to build a joint trip
to places of historical significance. Students, and teachers, will travel to Paris and experience The Louvre, The Arc de
Triomphe and The Eiffel Tower among many other areas of interest. We then will make our way out to The Western Front
and visit places of interest from World War 1 and its memorial. Mrs Taylor will herself get to visit two relatives that were
buried in France. Students and teachers have had their final travel briefing and are getting prepared and packed to go. We
would like to thank the Irymple Secondary College leadership team and the Humanities department for supporting this
endeavour as well as the office staff who have helped with all the official documentation. Last of all a big thanks to the
parents who are allowing their young adults to come on this amazing journey with us. It is not just exciting because we get to
go to Dinseyland…..but that is a big part too. If you would like to follow the adventures of the group a Blog has been set up
that you can follow daily. You can find it at http://france2017.global2.vic.edu.au/
