VicSRC Workshop.<br />

On Tuesday the 7 th of March the School Captains went to Mildura Senior College for the day to attend the VicSRC workshop.<br />

Over the duration of the day we participated in many activities that helped to develop our leadership and teamwork skills.<br />

We worked on effective ways of planning projects and we presented our ideas to the rest of the group. There were<br />

presentations from other schools as well and games throughout the day. There was also a large amount of valuable<br />

information that we gained that we will take back and put into our future endeavours, throughout the year, as your school<br />

captains.<br />

France trip 2017.<br />

In less than two weeks 5 teachers and 36 students from ISC, RCSC and MSC will travel to France on the History trip of a<br />

lifetime. This trip came about when Mrs Taylor was drawn as the winner to the major prize at the HTAV’s National History<br />

conference in 2015. Over the last year and a bit Mrs Taylor have worked with teachers from RSC and MSC to build a joint trip<br />

to places of historical significance. Students, and teachers, will travel to Paris and experience The Louvre, The Arc de<br />

Triomphe and The Eiffel Tower among many other areas of interest. We then will make our way out to The Western Front<br />

and visit places of interest from World War 1 and its memorial. Mrs Taylor will herself get to visit two relatives that were<br />

buried in France. Students and teachers have had their final travel briefing and are getting prepared and packed to go. We<br />

would like to thank the Irymple Secondary College leadership team and the Humanities department for supporting this<br />

endeavour as well as the office staff who have helped with all the official documentation. Last of all a big thanks to the<br />

parents who are allowing their young adults to come on this amazing journey with us. It is not just exciting because we get to<br />

go to Dinseyland…..but that is a big part too. If you would like to follow the adventures of the group a Blog has been set up<br />
