Disbursing Entitlements Leveraging Aadhaar as e-PDS:
Aadhaar Enabled Solution Implemented: The primary challenge faced within the current
set of PDS operations is the misreporting of sales. To make operations at the Fair Price
Shops more transparent and more difficult to misreport, it is
recommended that a PoS device be utilized for FPS transactions
with Internet- enabled biometric authentication (Aadhaar-based).
Aadhaar Authentication Components: It describes components of
the Aadhaar Authentication system and the flow of authentication
request and response. The high level components are:
1. Authentication at the front end: Authentication front end largely
consists of the service provider at the point of service, such as
a fair price shop using an Aadhaar compliant authentication
device to authenticate ration card holders who come to
purchase subsidized grains. A biometric authentication device
is deployed at the point-of-service.
