Sarkar 3 

Sarkar 3 is an upcoming Indian political crime thriller film, written and 

directed by Ram Gopal Varma. This is the third installment of Sarkar film 

series which stars Amitabh Bachchan again in the lead role along with 

Ronit Roy, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam. 

In 2009 Ram Gopal Verma stated that he had no plans finalised for the 

third instalment in the series and shelved Sarkar 3. However in 2012 it 

was reported that the sequel would go ahead once again and currently is 

in the pre production stage where the script is being written. The film is 

expected to go on floors at the end of 2013, primarily with the same cast 

of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan although his character dies at the end 

of this film and also Aishwarya Rai is to be left out. 

In August, 2016 director Ram Gopal Varma confirmed Sarkar 3. He told 

on his Twitter that Abhishek and Aishwarya will not be a part of the third 

installment.

Noor 

Noor is an upcoming Indian drama film directed by Sunhil 

Sippy that features Sonakshi Sinha in the lead titular 

role. The film is based on Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz's 

novel Karachi, You're Killing Me! and follows a Pakistani 

journalist-writer Noor's misadventures and love life as she 

navigates her way through Mumbai.The film is scheduled 

for a worldwide release on 21 April 2017. 

Principal photography commenced in July 2016 on a set at 

RK Studio in Mumbai.The film will be shot in one schedule 

and is expected to be wrapped up by August 

The music for the film is composed by Amaal Mallik. On 

21 Jan. T-Series confirmed that the title track is voiced by

Story : 

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is the 

story of Badrinath Bansal 

(Varun Dhawan), the son of a 

businessman who falls in love 

with Vaidehi Trivedi (Alia Bhatt). 

Badrinath is quite cool going and 

not responsible while Vaidehi is 

fierce and high-spirited. When 

Badrinath decides to marry her, 

Vaidehi asks him to find a groom 

for her elder sister and when Badri 

finds a groom, Vaidehi runs away. 

The rest of Badrinath Ki Dulhania 

is all about what happens next. 

Analysis : 

The entire first half of Badrinath Ki 

Dulhania has been racy and runs 

on entertainment which is filled with 

humour and sensible elements. The 

songs have been shot extremely well 

and are the major highlights of the 

movie. The emotional episodes too 

take the major leap at the right time 

and the interval episodes make the 

film gripping. On the whole the first 

half of Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a 

treat to watch. 

The second half of Badrinath Ki 

Dulhania too takes the same wave 

for sometime but the major plot gets 

deviated after time passes. However 

the movie returns back soon and the 

entertainment takes the major show 

of the film. The performances by the 

lead actors and emotional episodes 

during the pre-climax and the climax 

makes Badrinath Ki Dulhania a 

winner at the box-office. 

Final Word: 

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is sure shot 

winner at the box-office for the long 

lasting entertainment and gripping 

narration. Varun Dhawan and Alia 

Bhatt leads the show.

Phillauri 

Phillauri is good 

at parts and the 

lead actors steal 

the show with their 

performances. An 

interesting and 

gripping second half 

would have made 

wonders at the boxoffice. 

Story : 

Phillauri is the story of Kannan 

(Suraj Sharma) who returns back 

from Canada. He is about to get 

married to his sweetheart Anu 

(Mehrene) in Amritsar. After being 

declared a ‘manglik’, he is asked 

to marry a tree to solve his future 

problems post-marriage. Kannan 

gives into pressure and married 

a tree, only to find later that he’s 

now married to the ghost of Shashi 

(Anushka Sharma), whose soul 

lived on the tree. The rest of the 

film is all about Shashi and why 

she turned a ghost. Watch Phillauri 

to know about the complete story. 

Analysis : 

Phillauri has an interesting story 

line and it has been well executed 

in parts. The movie turns quite 

interesting at times however it is the 

slow narration which spoils the feel 

throughout. The first half looks decent 

and it has some interesting episodes 

to get entertained. However a huge 

dip during the pre-interval episodes 

spoils the mood and on the whole the 

first half of Phillauri has been quite 

comfortable to be watched. 

After a decent first half, the second 

half fails to make that impact across 

the audience. The uninteresting 

narration and the unwanted episodes 

spoil the film’s feel. They deviate the 

major plot of the film and irritate the 

audience. It is Anushka Sharma who 

shines throughout the film and the 

visuals look extremely impressive. 

The climax has been decent and on 

the whole the second half of Phillauri 

fails to live up the expectations. 

Final Word: 

Phillauri is good at parts and the 

lead actors steal the show with their 

performances. An interesting and 

gripping second half would have 

made wonders at the box-office.

Dwaraka is all about Erra Sreenu 

(Vijay Devarakonda) who is a 

small thief. After being pushed 

into an ugly spat, Sreenu turns 

Krishnanda Swamy who is a fake 

baba in the town. It is then he falls 

in love with Pooja (Pooja Jhaveri) 

and then comes the biggest turn of 

his life. The rest of Dwaraka is all 

about how Erra Sreenu comes out 

from Krishnanda Swamy and wins 

his love. Watch Dwaraka to know 

about the surprises that the film 

offers. 

Analysis : 

The first half of Dwaraka has been 

impressive to the core and it offers 

stupendous entertainment in each 

frame. The songs have been 

decent and the film turns interesting 

during the pre-interval episodes. 

The interval episode is sure the 

film’s highlight and the game 

changer. Vijay Devarakonda has 

been flawless and on the whole, 

Dwaraka has an interesting and 

impressive first half. 

The second half of the film too 

carries the same feel and it turns 

serious. However the director 

managed to indulge entertainment 

throughout the film. The love story 

looked decent and the movie turns 

racy during the last half an hour. 

The nail-biting narration and a 

decent climax makes Dwaraka 

a worth watching romantic 

entertainer. 

Final Word: 

Dwaraka is sure an impressive 

romantic entertainer because of 

the fresh plot, engaging narration 

and sensible entertainment. Vijay

weekend. 

Story : 

Katamarayudu is all about Rayudu 

(Pawan Kalyan) who happens to 

be the head of a village based in 

Rayalaseema. Mostly concerned 

about the people and his brothers, 

Rayudu is in no mood of getting 

married. It is during this time, 

his brothers (Siva Balaji, Ajay, 

Kamal Kamaraj and Chaitanya 

Krishna) spot Avanthi (Shruti 

Haasan) and start the track. The 

rest of Katamarayudu is all about 

how Rayudu manages to solve 

all the problems in his village and 

win his lovefor Avanthi. Watch 

Katamarayudu to know about the 

complete story. 

Analysis : 

The first half of Katamarayudu looks 

completely racy and it has been filled with 

loads of entertainment. Pawan Kalyan 

stands tall with his performance and steals 

the show completely. The action episodes 

have been completely top notch and they 

have been convincing. The songs have 

been placed well but not pleasing to hear. 

The interval episodes have been decent and 

on the whole the first half of Katamarayudu 

makes a massive impact across the 

audience. 

The second half of Katamarayudu too 

managed to be decent however the levels 

of entertainment dip down. On a predictable 

note, Katamarayudu has been focused 

completely on the revenge drama and love 

story. The pre-climax episodes bring back 

the film to track and on the whole the second 

half of Katamarayudu has been good but 

predictable. 

Final Word: 

Katamarayudu is Pawan Kalyan’s one 

man show which strikes at the box-office 

this summer. Decent narration, passable 

entertainment and the grand technical 

aspects make Katamarayudu an impressive 

entertainer to be watched this weekend.

Flawless and 

Gripping 

Trapped is an Indian thriller film directed by 

Vikramaditya Motwane. The film, a survival 

thriller, stars Rajkummar Rao, whose character is 

shut in a Mumbai apartment. It was shot in less 

than a month in Mumbai in 2016. 


The film had its world premiere 

at the Mumbai Film Festival on 

October 26, 2016. It was praised 

and received a Standing ovation. 

The film released all over on 

March 17, 2017 and it received 

exceptional response from the 

audience. 

Shaurya (Rajkummar Rao) and 

his girlfriend Noorie (Geetanjali 

Thapa) plans to elope and get 

married, a day before Noorie's 

marriage with someone else. As 

Shaurya lives in boys hostel, he 

plans to shift to a new flat. In a 

hurry to find a cheap house he 

ends up shifting in a high rise 

apartment, which is empty due 

to some legal issues. Ironically, 

neither the only security guard nor 

Noorie knows that he has shifted 

in this empty building. Next 

morning Shaurya accidentally 

locks himself up in his new rented 

apartment. He makes some initial 

attempt to break open the lock but 

fails. Due to a discharged phone, 

he is unable to contact anybody. 

Shaurya, now totally disconnected 

with outside world struggles to 

survive being claustrophobic and 

without food, water and electricity. 

As days passes by, he makes 

several failed attempts to get any 

help:- 

Trying to shout out to the guard. 

Sends help message written on 

cardboards with his blood, which 

goes un-noticed. 

Burns fire in the balcony during 

night to grab someone's attention 

but soon has to put it out as the 

fire starts spreading inside the 

flat. 

Desperate to survive Shaurya has 

to feed on cockroaches, ants and 

pigeons and also starts talking to 

a rat for company. To his relief it 

rains heavily and Shaurya collects 

as much water possible in empty 

containers. Almost a week later 

his health started falling cos of 

starvation or eating unhygienic 

things. Shaurya then gathers 

some courage and decides that 

he will not die in here. He plans 

to escape through balcony grill 

by cutting it with a mettle sheet, 

which took days. He then hangs 

out of balcony and climbs down 

five floors by railing, with the 

constant risk of falling down to 

his death. He reaches down the 

13th floor which had no grills, 

hence manges to breaks into the 

flat and finally could escape out 

of the building. Due to too much 

weakness he faints and been 

rushed to a hospital. A week 

later Noorie, who is now married 

to someone else gives him a 

visit in hospital. Heartbroken 

and traumatized by the incident 

Shaurya returns to his life and 

office. He is confound to see that 

no one has noticed his absence 

as everyone is too busy in their 

own world, thus portraying the 

lifestyle of metro cities these 

days.

Taapsee Pannu

If there's one thing that stands out in the Naam 

Shabana trailers, it's Taapsee Pannu's badass fighting 

skills. Taapsee and Akshay Kumar have been creating 

awareness about self-defence and even made a video 

urging women to learn to protect themselves and 

demonstrating techniques for the same. 

Has Taapsee ever had to 

use such techniques in 

real life? 

She tells in a candid chit chat, 

"Thankfully, since the time I have learnt 

it, no. I guess no one wants to take on 

me after that (laughs). But in school 

and college, there have been instances 

where I wish I knew how to defend 

myself." 

Taapsee tells us that unlike her 

onscreen persona Shabana, she 

"hates to hit people." In fact, she says 

that she does not relate to her 

character on any level. "She is a 

very composed and a controlled 

person. I am very expressive 

and hyperactive. She can read 

between the lines and has a 

strong sixth sense. I'm very 

gullible, I take everything at face 

value," the actor elaborates. 

The toughest part of getting into 

Shabana's shoes was not the 

physical aspect of it, contrary to 

what people think. "I have always 

been inclined towards sports. 

What really took a toll on me 

was the mental bit of it. To give

each shot keeping in mind all the 

characteristics of this girl, who is 

completely opposite to me, was 

pretty taxing," Taapsee reveals. 

And after back-to-back "intense" 

films, she is going to take a 

break and do a fun, glamourous 

role in Judwaa 2. "After Pink, I 

decided I won't shoot a hardcore, 

intense film. But I started shooting 

for Naam Shabana just two 

days after Pink. It has been too 

intense, it is high time I relax a 

bit. It's good that Judwaa 2 came 

my way. I'm going to dance, wear 

fancy clothes and all of that," she 

says, looking almost relieved. 

Taapsee is one of those actors 

who put their foot down and 

refuse to endorse fairness 

creams. She earnestly tells us, "I 

have never used a fairness cream 

in my life. I don't think being 

fair in any way superior to any 

other colour. And when I started 

working, I found that being fair 

has actually backfired for me. I 

have lost a few films because I'm 

too fair. Especially down South 

(she has done several Tamil and 

Telugu films), they don't relate 

this complexion to a girl-nextdoor. 

This is something that has 

not worked for me, so why will I 

endorse it?"

Kriti Sanon, who is prepping for her role 

for "Bareilly Ki Barfi", says she thoroughly 

enjoyed reading the script for the upcoming
