The Blue Mountain Community Library
The Blue Mountain Community Library will hold its
3rd Antiques Appraisal and Silent Auction Event on
Friday, April 7th 5:30-8:00 pm at Slate Belt Nazareth
Baptist Church, 1620 Church Road, Pen Argyl, PA
18072. The antiques appraisals will be conducted
by licensed auctioneers Lori Biechy of Lori Biechy
Auctions, Christian Answini of Saucon Valley Auction
Co., and Les and Ginny Beyer, all who are generously donating their time
and expertise. In addition to the appraisals, the event will feature a Silent
Auction of over 50 items, including Baskets and Gift Cards, donated by a
large number of area businesses. Barbecue, hot dogs, other food items,
and beverages will be for sale. For food purchase and auction participation,
cash and checks will be accepted.
Appraisal tickets for the evening are available at the library (216 South
Robinson Avenue in Pen Argyl) during regular business hours (Mon.-Sat. 10
am-12 pm and M-Th 6 pm-8 pm) or may be purchased at the door. Please
call the library in advance to make a reservation.
Admission to participate in the event is Free. There will be a cost to bring
items for appraisal. Suggested appraisal items include collectibles, militaria,
silver, comic books, early toys, sports memorabilia, quilts, coins, primitives,
musical instruments. Please no firearms, large furniture, or large artworks.
Tickets to bring items for appraisal are limited. All money raised benefits the

Glow Slaters Glow Neon 5k Fun Run/Walk
“Get splattered because it matters”

The Bangor Elementary PTO is excited to announce the third annual Glow
Slaters Glow Neon 5k Fun Run/Walk that will occur on the Bangor Area
School District Complex at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Last year,
over 400 community members came out to participate in the event and get
pulverized by colored dust.
The Neon 5k is an untimed fun run/walk that is less about competition and
more about exercise and enjoying a color-infused day. Participants of all
different speeds, ages, shapes and sizes will go through five color stations
and get splattered with colored dust. At the end of the race, there will be a
final color toss celebration and Neon Dance Party with a Tricky Tray to follow
at 11:00 a.m.
Last year, this PTO sponsored event raised nearly $6,000 to benefit
students attending DeFranco, Washington and Five Points Elementary
Schools. The PTO will use the proceeds to purchase new library books,
schools supplies and equipment, funds field trips and assemblies as well as
offer free family fun nights throughout the year.
Whether you walk or run, this family-friendly event is for a great cause.
Registration includes a color packet, Neon Dance party, and an event t-shirt

The Washington Township Vol. Fire Co is seeking Volunteers. If
interested come to the firehouse (920 Washington Blvd., Rt. 191,
Bangor) any Monday evening at 6:30pm.
Wind Gap Ambulance is seeking volunteers. You do not need any
experience training will be provided. For more information please

Holiday Concert Committee
A check presentation was held on March 27th, 2017. The concert
proceeds were donated to the following non-profit organizations.
Thank you to all that supported our annual Holiday Concert last year
featuring the rock band "Twelve Twenty Four." Also, thank you to all
the committee members that spent hours of your time to help these
