CENTAUR
May I start this entry by wishing all our Year 11, 12
and 13 pupilss the very best of luck with their
upcoming public examinations. It is rare to enjoy
the examination process but very soon it will all be
over. It really is worth keeping your noses in the
revision over the next few weeks as in next to no
time you’ll experience that wonderful feeling of the
end of the final exam, and a long, relaxing and wellearned
summer will open out in front of you.
Now that summer is peeping around the corner and
the days are warming up it is good to see our pupils
have a little more colour in their cheeks and a
spring in their step. Hopefully they’ll put that extra
bit of energy into their school work as they work
towards achieving end-of-year baseline levels.
At time of writing Centaur pupils continue to make
great waves within and outside our school
community. 23 pupils from Centaur still have 100%
attendance for the school year - a magnificent
achievement. Leading the way are 10C1 with 7
pupils, closely followed by 9C1 and 8C1 with 6
pupils each who have attended every single day of
school since September. Furthermore Centaur
continue to dominate the from group rankings for
best cumulative attendance, currently holding 4 of
the 7 top places. 7C1 sit in second place by just
0.2% on 97.0%, closely followed in third by 10C1 on
96.9%. Well done to you all!
Have a lovely Easter!
DRAGON
I would first like to wish you all a happy Easter. I
hope that all my Dragon pupils have a well-deserved
break and enjoy the Easter holidays. The pupils have
been revising hard for their KS3 exams and Year 11
with their GCSE’s fast approaching. I hope they get
the grades they deserve, as our Dragon motto says “
high achievement always takes place in the
framework of high expectations.” There are lots of
online revision resources to help support your child
to succeed in their subjects.
A number of Dragon pupils along with myself will be
flying to Italy to take to the Alps for some skiing
which I know they are looking forward to
enormously. We will have some downhill alpine
racers by the end of the week, more news to follow
in the next newsletter and hopefully some pictures
too; we will also be on Twitter updating parents/
carers of the pupils skiing progress or falls!
A number of Year 9 Dragon House pupils have been
involved in trips this term to Worcester University
on a languages day; Year 8 attended the Big Bang fair
and said what a great day they had and how much
they had learnt.
On Friday 24th March the whole school participated
in Comic Relief where we had a non-uniform day,
took part in competitions such as beat the goalie and
cross bar challenge and there was a cake sale in the
main hall which was very successful, thank you to all
the Dragon pupils that bought cakes in.
I have set my pupils a challenge to see if any of them
can be lucky enough to find the Easter Bunnies that
Cadburys will be hiding throughout the country, let’s
hope one of my pupils finds one.
As always I will leave you with a joke but first of all I
hope you all have a lovely Easter, eat plenty of Easter
eggs and enjoy the break.
Q: Why did the Easter egg hide?
A: He was a little chicken!
