FOR THE LOVE OF MOTHERS
In the month of May, we will be celebrating mother’s day. Celebrating the women who gave
birth to us, natured us, raised us and taught us to be the best of who we are. Women that
found joy in the responsibility of raising a soul. Women that even when they were tired, worn
out and drained, still managed to find strength to love and take care of those that needed
taking care of. Women that no matter how old you are as a child; you are still a child to them.
Women that don’t think twice to bring you to the straight and narrow when you are losing your
way. Women that find nothing as fulfilling as taking care of someone who needs taking care
of.
To be a mother is not necessarily defined by who you gave birth to. It is defined by the lives
you have shaped and natured. It is defined by the love you have shared with those that
needed and still need it. It is defined by the light you bring into the lives of those that are in
the dark and need direction.
The bible tells us about Sarai, about Rachel, the women that offered their slaves to their husbands
just so they could have children; children that they claimed as their own. From no child
to one child at 90, Sarah became a mother to many. Her one seed created a countless nation.
A nation favoured by God. Your nation given to you by God could be a nation of favour.
Trust God when he leads your motherhood.
We celebrate the women that regardless of the pain of not being able to bear a child, they
still became a mother to another child. We celebrate those women who looked at their circumstances,
and because they wanted the best for their children they gave them up for
adoption or let somebody else raise them. We celebrate the women that instead of choosing
to have an abortion, they trusted God to help them raise their children no matter the circumstances.
We celebrate women that lost children, but never forgot them.
We salute you mothers!!
