TRADE CHRONICLE FPCCI and CEIC become Strategic Partner FPCCI signed Strategic Partnership Understanding with Commonwealth Enterprise & Investment Council in London. The MoU will open new doors of opportunities of trade & investment with 52 Commonwealth countries for Pakistani business community. Mr.Zubair Tufail, President FPCCI & Lord Marland of Odstock, Chairman C o m m o n w e a l t h E n t e r p r i s e & Investment Council signed the MoU. Commonwealth countries account for 17 percent of world GDP, 30 percent of world population (2.1 Billion), 25 percent of international trade and 40 percent of WTO membership. Commonwealth organization – a family of the peoples of 52 nations including 3 inter-governmental organizations (the CW Secretariat, the CW Federation and the CW of Leasing) and network of more than 80 association and societies is responsible to serve for improving peoples lives. Commonwealth member countries share 14 persent in Pakistan imports and 21 percent of pakistan's exports go to the commonwealth while shares 11 percent in Pakistan FDI inflow. It is also suggested that the laws should be m a d e s e p a r a t e f o r Allopathic and Alternative M e d i c i n e a s t h e i r philosophies are quite different. Besides the joint secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Khalid Mahmood and Dr. Zubair Ahmed also attended the meeting. TRADE CHRONICLE Pakistan Investment Roadshow showcases CPEC in Dubai Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has said that no country can bring prosperity and growth in economy without political stability in their system and urged Pakistan's business community as well as foreign traders to invest in Pakistan for better profit margin. He was addressing at the Pakistan Investment Roadshow held in Dubai aimed at apprising the investers of the potential as well as capacity of Karachi for profitable i n v e s t m e n t a n d b u s i n e s s opportunities in various fields. To attract investers Pakistan Business Council arranged the Roadshow in Dubai where around 300 people belonging to the business community attended the event. With the reference of economic growth in Pervez Musharraf and Ayub Khan's era, Muhammad Zubair stated that political stability always brought positive economic growth. Sindh governor pointed out that Pakistan had been o f f e r i n g v e r y c o n d u c i v e investment environment for foreign and local investors after the restoration of law and order situation especially in Karachi SGM Director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Saeed Ahmed Larak hinted the initiation of RLNG distribution during a meeting at Korangi Association of Trade &Industry (KATI). On a visit, along senior officials, to KATI, SGM said that industries, who required a d d i t i o n a l g a s f o r t h e i r requirements, should inform their concerned associations. He said that we are ready to structure a mechanism for RNLG with the consultation of industries.Larak also said meeting provincial consumption is our first priority , only gas acquired from other and introduction of CPEC. Therefore, the foreign and local investers should take advantage from the opportunities offered by Karachi and CPEC, he added. After highlighting the current e c o n o m i c p o l i c i e s o f t h e government, he said that new era of prosperity and development w i l l c o m m e n c e a f t e r t h e completion of CPEC in the country. Muhammad Zubair assured that the traders and businessmen coming up with investment in Sindh would be provided foolproof security. He was of the view that such Roadshows would prove helpful for carving out a place for Karachi on the international economic scene. He believed that the port in Karachi would be more resources will be sold out to other provinces. While talking to The Media after addressing the gathering, President, Pakistan Business Council (PBC) Dubai, Ahmed Shaikhani informed that the prime purpose of “Pakistan Roadshow 2017” was to encourage Pakistani business community and different traders to avail the investment opportunities in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan Business Council regularly received many queries of investing money in Pakistan after emerging stock market and CPEC. Shaikhani hoped that the heavy investment would come to Pakistan from abroad very soon. SSGC officials visit KATI President KATI Masood Naqi is presenting flower bouquet to SGM Director SSGC Saeed Ahmed Larik. UmerRehan, EhtishamUddin, SM Yahya, Najmul Arfeen and others are present on the occasion. Masood Naqi said that we are ready to provide any possible assistance to reduce UFG.
