Binding Together Homegrown Strengths
BOTH TOPIC CIRCLES FOLLOW
First Circle is a way of sharing
topics of concern to the trans
community in protected space
that connects people who get
together and people online.
Each discussion lasts 6 weeks.
Default topic—social transition
First Circle is powered by Discord
SIX THINKING HATS FORMAT
Community Conversations extend
First Circle discussions
and broaden them to include
allies and families of trans people.
Through discussion—we
see if we can find consensus
on a topic.
First Circle is powered by Slack
TransVine develops self-sustaining groups. Most small groups are just trying to keep it together enough to meet
again in a month and have minimal time and resources. We help with the resources through or Group Ad program
which puts a simple to use fund raising tool into the hands of LGBTQ2 support groups. Groups that participate in our
sustaining program get help with websites, email and promotions.
Trans people everywhere need a world that accepts them and grants them equity. Nothing happens without effort
and the world is not going to change by itself. The trans community needs to remain engaged in systems and programs
that affect them, including their local Pride organizations and the healthcare system.
In British Columbia, the TransCare BC provincial wide trans health program needs an effective balance to having
bureaucrats determine what is best for us. They haven’t done a very good job so far, given the lack of equity in
healthcare access. Join our call today for a BC wide community council with an equal part in policy at Change.org.
