Using pictures of the events would be helpful. Talking about: oneself and school activities and responsibilities in school activities in the community Asking and answering the question: What, Who, Where, How, Why Recognizing an environmental print Identifying the letters and sounds of the English alphabet that are not found in Mother Tongue Engaging in a show-and-tell to share information Identifying familiar words used at home Identifying and discussing the characters, setting, theme and events of the story Classifying sounds heard from speech Describing what are present on the book cover Identifying the name and sound of letters of the Filipino alphabet and distinguishing them from the English alphabet Sorting and classifying familiar words used at school Using the following as a way to share information: Pictures Summarizing Role-playing Reverse roles with your child, ask him/her to give directions to you on how to do a chore like folding a blanket, setting the table, and sweeping the floor. Make your child retell what your family did last Sunday in church, mall, etc. using action words. Play I Spy with My Little Eye with your child. Ask him/her to choose an object found in the house without telling you what it is. Then ask your child to describe using descriptive adjectives. Organize a show-and-tell program. Let your child and other members of the family take turns in sharing information.
