وصف الموقع:<br />
أول محمية لألحياء البرية في األردن في منطقة االزرق و تشكل األودية<br />
فيها حوالي %60 من مساحتها الكلية وما تبقى من مساحة المحمية<br />
فهي أراضي مستوية ومغطاه بالحماد.<br />
التنوع الحيوي الموجود:<br />
تحتوي على العديد من األحياء البرية المهددة باإلنقراض عالميا<br />
وأهمها: المها العربي وغزالن الريم. وهي أحد المناطق المهمة<br />
للطيور في األردن لوقوعها على أحد أهم ممرات هجرة الطيور ضمن<br />
مسار الصحراء الشرقية.<br />

Information about the Reserve:<br />
Al-Shaumari Wildlife Reserve is the oldest reserve in Jordan that was<br />
established in 1975 to act as a breeding center for endangered or<br />
locally extinct faunal species and to provide an open scientific station<br />
in the arid and semi-arid habitats. the reserve located in the eastern<br />
desert of Jordan it cover an area of 22 km² it is completely fenced.<br />
the reserve is lie within Saharo Arabian biogeographical zone is<br />
characterized with hot summer and cold winter with lowest annual<br />
rainfall in the country between 100-50 mm/year. The Hammada<br />
vegetation type which cover the whole reserve and characterized<br />
with presence of two subdivision that are Runoff Hammada and<br />
Gravel Hammada with different plants.
